The title says it all. I figure that Day[9] gets mentioned enough on this forum that he deserves his own thread on BG to recommend and discuss his Dailies.

Day[9] Daily runs 7pm PST Sunday through Thursday

Mondays are Funday Monday
Day[9] will review ladder games played with limitations that are set by him every week on Monday. (for example: Win a game as Zerg without making any queens)

Tuesdays are Newbie Tuesday
Day[9] will review and analyze ladder games where lower-league players are having trouble in a given area. The topic for the next weeks replays are given at the end of the episode on Tuesdays. (for ecample: Losing to early pressure)

Wednesdays are Friendsday Wednesday
Day[9] will have a special guest on the show to review one of their own replays.

For those who might not know, this upcoming Funday Monday is to play a 3v3 or 4v4 where you and your team announce the only unit your going to make the entire game.

Overlords/queens/observers/overseers/scv/drone/probes are exempt but thats all he mentioned.

I would be willing to do a 3v3 or 4v4 with some people on here to hopefully get on the show if anyone else is interested :D

Tonights Daily is going to have a game with Gretorp I believe. It's him against Axslav and I was watching it live on Gretorp's stream and it is awesome. Axslav has some of the sickest PvT out there and really plays an interesting style. Anyone who thinks TvP is imba needs to watch him and Socke play and it will give you a whole new perspective on the matchup.

Yesterday's daily was phenomenal. It was about when to make drones and when to make units, and larva allocation in general. I don't even play Zerg, but I learned so incredibly much from this episode that I almost wanna switch.

3rd game in Daily #193 was so fucking funny.

I'm not going to lie, I loled irl so many times during that cast. Day's recation to the spore crawler and the planetary fortress rush and the guy that nuked his whole army. Everything in that daily was just hilarious. I was actually kind of suprised that he showed all these off the wall plays like nukes and mass hellion, would have expected something we could learn from. I intended to submit one of a build I use in TvT sometimes which is Banshee Harass -> Double/Triple Starport -> Battlecruiser + Mass vikings, but sadly I only fought two terrans this week and one of them went mass marine.

Jinn, myself and Serif did some funday monday's today. Our 1 epic win that came out of it, was Jinns 2 Ravens, My immortals, Jinns friends Ultras, and Serifs vikings. After both me and jinn died early. Still came back and won, pretty fun

Funday Monday is slowly becoming my favorite thing on the internet. No Queens was fuckin hilarious, his cast of OoOo had me crying for half an hour. Terran one also had me rolling for some time. Day9 is a genius.

I've learned so much about Zerg between this last Newbie Tuesday and then Thursday's daily featuring madfrog. It's pretty tempting to start playing Z to see what I can do. I like Day9's interpretation of the Z Macro play style, but I'd like to see how a Z could stand up playing a similar style to T or P by building one Drone at a time (1 every 17 seconds) while allocating the rest of the larva to units to see if it's even possible to keep up in constant unit production with T/P rather than Droning and making army in bursts.

Thinking about Larva as a resource was fucking brilliant. I have never had it explained to me like that or even thought about it like that either but it's so fucking true. When you break everything into larva units the perspective is so different.

Yea and he mentioned in another daily of his that anytime the opponent can make them waste larva that they should do it.

Threatening a push but then stopping and turning around when they started making 10 roaches, now 10 larva are gone. Protoss or Terran try that and they just cancel the que and bam they lost nothing where you lost potential for 10 units or drones.

I am in exactly the same spot as the zerg in his video, I don't make enough drones because I'm always worried about an attack and I'll die. It's a mindset you get from terran and protoss because if your not making units or you have none you can't warp in 20 zealots on the fly, you have to wait on cooldowns where zerg doesn't have that issue.

Actually, Protoss and Terran are supposed to make units constantly to build up their army. They can't typically slam out as much as a Zerg can in one swoop.

If they are good at it and plan their economy well, that starts to change in the very late game, at least slightly. Protoss and Terran will never match the instant production of Zerg, but any good Protoss or Terran WILL begin to catch up at the end of the game. Once you max out, one of the first things you should be doing is throwing down a TON of production facilities. You may not be able to support all of them continuously, in fact you most certainly won't, but they serve the same purpose as larvae in this context. In the endgame, all three races are stockpiling resources while maxed and planning their engagement. It's helpful to ensure that once that engagement happens, you can instantly reinforce as many as you can using your mass production and the stockpile of resources you had.

This actually was very important in BW too, I remember watching a pro TvT where one of the guys literally had OVER 40 FACTORIES (this is actually a funny/bad example, because the guy ended up losing a game where he was massively ahead to a guy who only had 4 factories the whole game). This was most common in a matchup like TvT where big army confrontations were rare and could often drag on forever. I've seen it in the other matchups though as well, particularly PvT (30+ gateways).
