Luminous Arc & Rune Factory (Harvest Moon)

Both these games came out today, played about an hour of each, and so far a pretty positive impression.

Anyone else pick these up?

Arc seems too kiddy for my tastes. What's with that lately? The Megaman Battle Network and Lunar Knights games are like this too. Kinda disappointing :/

i was looking at luminous arc, whats your opinion on it? it looked a little better than hoshigami which also caught my eye as ive been looking for another game for my ds, and i love strategy rpgs.

Hosigami is the worst game ever made Though the DS remake is slightly better than the original, but it is still horrible.

Lum Arc still seems pretty fun, but havent done much with it yet, just fought 2 battles so far.

Luminous Arc is pretty fun, done like 2-3 battles so far. Haven't messed with harvest moon yet. Heroes of Mana is also out <.<

Heros didnt look very good, havent played a good Mana game since Secret/Legend, all these new ones have been bleh.

A friend of mine tried Rune Factory and reported that it is buggy (just like Harvest Moon DS). Luminous Arc is ok as a SLG but the anime style design is probably not for everyone's taste. Heores of Mana is probably the coffin cover for Mana series (Dawn of Mana is the coffin nail). But if you want to play HoM, now is the time since you don't want to go back to it after playing FF12-RW.

Really haven't given this a fair shake yet. I have been playing Luminous, Rune Factory, AND Mana ... and... Brave Story and Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology. So yeah, it is hard to give a fair impression just yet as i am too stretched thin.

I do like each of these so far, Brave Story (yar... PSP i know) is quite good for what it is. But then i am also currently reading this mammoth novel here... so yeah.

Tales of the World =

Brave Story I haven't really played yet. I was gonna start it, then, uh, stuff happened and my DS is getting used again ^_^

Oh, for all other pirates on here, Gyakuten Saiban3(Phoenix Wright) is out, like 2-3 days early :D (It has an english option.)

Jeanne d'Arc also coming out in a few days. So much stuff to play finally, but school is also about to start again

I bought Luminous arc today along with Riviera, Brave story and Tales for PSP. Riviera and Tales were a let down, but Brave story and Luminous is very fun.

beat luminous arc today, was nice and am happy to see that it lets you save after completion and play back through again with what you've obtained. :D

I love Rune Factory, it's taking over my life. When I first started it I was having an issue with dying constantly but I think I was too ambitious. Basically it seems to me that some of the issues that were in Harvest Moon games, i.e: needing a guide to give you birthdays for people, not being able to plant a full 9 squares because you couldn't water the middle, the day going by way too fast, not having a source of wood/stones after you cleared your field without going to the mountains etc. Oh, and the fact that you get to use your scythe/hoe/axe/sword for fighting stuff is awesome. Oh, and no normal chicken,cows,sheep now lol, you get to actually tame monsters that give you those items + they will work on your field without more then being fed everyday. The only issue I have is that you can only get milk/eggs once a week. >=( But there's tons of other ways to make money.

Luminous Arc looked really interesting but it got some pretty shitty reviews so I didn't pick it up, waiting on my R4 flash card to come in the mail and I'll give the ROM a shot. Harvest moon also looked really fun, DS is starting to get tons of good games and draining a hole in my already empty pocket

Reviewers are retarded, Luminous Arc was a lot of fun.

The actual Harvest Moon, not Rune Factory for the DS is soooooooo buggy. This is the first time I've had a problem and I have owned every Harvest Moon game, since the snes one except for Magical Melody or whatever it is for gamecube.
