All you players that "grew up" to 75 exp'ing only in TAU zones, you need to get a fucking clue. Seeking up these days on any job that's under 75 is like repeatedly smashing yourself in the face with a brick. So for those of you that are total nubs but somehow know of this forum, here's some more real noob advice for you, listen well:

1) Get your motherfucking staging points. There's nothing worse than making an entire party deal with your ineptitude while you bungle your way through TAU's large zones, trying to find the SP then camp. Listen to the Pope's sticky, it's golden advice.
2) Buy some motherfucking accuracy gear. No, your Garrilous Ring and Courage Ring, with your full BLU AF, will not be sufficient. I had a BLU tonight tell me that a 69-71 party was too low for Bibiki Bay Dhalmels. What the fuck? Yes, a 71 BLU wearing abysmal shit for gear WILL have trouble connecting a single hit, especially when the poor bastard refuses to spend money on food.
3) Use your Reraise items. You've already forced your party to sit on their thumbs and spin while you bungled your way through a dangerous area. Don't die in a bad, bad spot to true sound Poroggo's without your fucking RR on. Better yet, listen to those around you that know what the fuck they're talking about, and don't aggro the shit to begin with.

Mmm... tasty oldschool ranting. I highly approve and greatly enjoy. This might all be complaints toward ToAU-generation players, but it's the same problems everyone has always had.

They fail as BLU, apparently. Their AF body is tolerable... scream at them until they use sushi. Like seriously, scream. Tell them to go to the tower and mow over gigas until they can afford a stack of squid then use their IS and sell gold coins so they can afford sole for the next PT... since they're literally useless in the PT if they can't even do a basic stun.
...btw, does your server have magically more challenging dhalmels than mine...? Because those are completely abusable at 64-66 (depending on if it's a static of smart people, or a pickup PT).

I'd argue the issue here isn't RR... it's that you actually trusted random people in a pickup PT to know how to get to weird camps and know what's going to kill them via what. Oh, and get maps. Maps are good. You have zero excuses not to have a map of all the ToAU zones. Actually, the only forgivable maps to not have are CN and ones from coffers. Though those are nice...
The lack of RR is merely bonus annoyance. This is not new, however! Don't tell me you've forgotten about people getted 'Fausted' on the way to Ulli statue camp, or training random aggro to the secret room KRT camp. That's classic stupidity and lack of preparedness. Hell, it STILL happens even though it's always 100% avoidable if you're actually careful.
Tertiary problem: People need to learn to suck it up and HP immediately if they die in a bad spot. That goes for everyone. Any level, doing anything.
Someone dies in the dunes and wants a raise, vs HPing to bastok and OPing back in 30 seconds. Someone dies in a merit PT on chain136 and wants their LS to come out and R3 instead of taking the RDMs R1. Wtf, it's a merit PT, and if you can do chain100+ you're easily doing 15k/hr. You have your EXP back and more before you're unweakened. Or, you could have brought RR, or you could HP and go back to the staging point. Someone gets fausted and tries to wait around for an R3, even though it takes a good PT, pressing no less than 2 ebon panels at the same time, Senior GM intervention and potentially a sac puller if you want to raise someone there safely (note: safely, no mages getting magic aggro and praying sleep sticks). Oh and that's assuming you have a WHM. HP and admit you screwed up.

(And for the record, in terms of sheer wrongness, DRG/BLU solo with ethereal and weapon rules has brought the world of DRG full circle)... they had to wait 2 hours to call their wyvern, too!
...People wearing a full set of job AF used to be role models! WAR AF hands used to be GOOD! Enmity was a very misunderstood concept because WAR AF had it more than PLD. Who tanks in your PT? The person with the highest defense, duh.
Exp ring? Oh please. PLs? No one was high enough level yet to safely assist in curing your PT without dying! ...And even if they were a high enough level, they were all busy trying to figure out how the hell the stuff for high-lvl people worked.
Genkai quests? Often days or organizing... for limit2... full alliance please! Limit1 items? God, we wasted daaaaaaays down in the basement of eldieme.
...And crafting did actually used to be profitable. Very. Especially those damn lucky goldsmith people, grr... HQ rings everyone needed...

2 PTs are exping in Onzozo. On those damn Toramas. Ose pops. They ally to kill it (everyone had to use 2hr!), lot for a drop if they had THF or something else to make best use of the jerkin, and whoever lotted highest on the whisker split profit with PT because it was valuable at the time. Yes. We would sell and split NM drops we got in exp PTs with the random PT members. You know... trust in random people... 'twas good while it lasted.

Heynow, there were suggestions in the OP about gear choices, and food use... and navigating vana'diel... and uh, PT courtesy issues. It's there, you just need to dig around for it a bit. I on the other hand, did no nothing more than rant.

On BRD I encountered the worst players I have ever seen in the 3 or so years I have been playing. WHM @72 wearing Empress Band and bat earrings, 73 WAR wearing a spike necklace and level 14 STR rings and THFs seem to love the combination of Garrulous and Unyielding rings. I usually don't care what jobs I party with but it seems people can't even get to camp anymore without atleast one person dying.

Went to trolls a few nights ago and four people died getting there from staging point, one of them died twice.

I don't even wanna merit BRD or MNK at all unless I have 5 other LS members to go with.

And seriously what the fuck is up with the stupid /tells I get for party now. The night I hit 75 on BRD I was sitting in mog cleaning inventory up and I got three different tells from different people with "pt k" and then they would send me an invite. My flag was not up and even if it was there is no way i'm accepting an invite/tell like that no matter what job i'm on.

I have never in my life seen someone use a Reraise item for an exp or merit party, nor has it ever occurred to me that anyone should. Totally unnecessary unless pretty much the entire party is retarded.

I believe they're talking about people who don't have their staging points, then have to run through the long zones and get aggro and die while running to the staging points.

You clearly need to get used to being a 75 BRD.

If the XP invites bother you, go anon! It's really the only way that (most) of the invites stop.

The WHM was lazy and didn't get his SP's. So the RDM, a Wise gear-wearing, sword melee'ing fool, escorted him through Mamook to get the Mamool Ja SP. Two of us mentioned Poroggo's being true sound, but nobody listened, so the WHM ended up aggro'ing and dying in a bad spot. I guess you woulda had to have been there. ;p

I actually had a guy refuse to merit in a 4 War, Rdm, Whm merit party the other day. Said he would never merit without a Brd. Now don't get me wrong, life is great when I got someone singing to me while cleving birds but WTF. I was floored.

I too can remember when AF was the IT thing to wear in XP, when people would be amazed that we had a WHM in the 50's GASP that could actually PL in the dunes. HELL I remember when sushi came out..........overhunting here I come

I have tried several times to level my PLD, just cause I like tanking so much (hardcore Nin BTW) I just can't stomach the people I have to party with, I am usually fortunate enough to get a couple LS mates to party with but ALWAYS have some jackass who has no idea what to do come join. First thing these people do is ask if there is a PL.............makes me sick.

I remember when we all started getting sky and couldn't wait to fight GODS, that's right GODS. I went to 75 with a real life best friend, hours of drinking beer, eatting oreos and looking for party because a WHM was never to be found.

Whats worse is that there "people" are starting to infiltrate our homes. sneaking into our LS's and newbing it up right under our noses.

I too can remember when random parties teamed up to kill the godforsaken GOB that dropped the GODLY bow just so we could XP there. When NO ONE knew where the hell they were in sky, hell whole alliances wiped just trying to get somewhere, much less fighting something.

I want those days back...........

I have trusted healers and trusted friends in the game...........they really should make a OLD SCHOOL server just dedicated to us OLD SCHOOL players who understand about hate control, damage sacrifice for better XP per hour, and most importantly the fun of the game.
