"Wings of the Goddess" Version Update (Nov. 13)

On Nov. 20, 2007, the FINAL FANTASY XI: Wings of the Goddess expansion disc will be shipped.

Due to the number of new features included in this expansion, an update of the game will be required for all players (even those who have not installed the expansion). The preparatory version update for the FINAL FANTASY XI: Wings of the Goddess expansion disc will be performed on the following date.

FINAL FANTASY XI gameplay will not be interrupted during this update as there will be no server maintenance conducted at this time.

Also, additional preparatory server maintenance is scheduled to be performed on Nov. 19, 2007. Details on this maintenance will be announced in the "Information" section.

The new features for FINAL FANTASY XI: Wings of the Goddess expansion will become available sometime on Nov. 21, 2007.

* This update consists of a version upgrade of the client program. When you press the play button after the time stated below, the version upgrade will begin automatically. Please follow the instructions on the screen.

Uh 21st? Please tell me they mean the 21st in Japan which is the 22nd here? I can only assume so... Otherwise I'm gonna have to reschedule my vacation haha...

this makes sense... since it was like that for aht'urhgan... i think it became active around 9pm est? which pissed off alot of jp who didn't think it was fair for them to get activated in the morning during the work-week. i guess it'll be the same this year, although it'll probably be generally inconvenient to everyone (thanksgiving evening for usa, early morning for EU, and a thursday morning for japan)

Yeah. Japan is 14 hours ahead of Central time, but due to DST, they are 15 hours ahead of us. So that means they are 14 ahead of Eastern time zoners, so yeah. The 22nd over there is actually the 21st for us. Not the other way around.

Sounds like we get another chance to datamine on the 13th, and then maybe another chance to datamine more stuff on the 19th(depending if they do decide to perform another update then). The 19th just so happens to be after the Fan Fest in the US, so maybe they might have more goodies to disclose.

Also, about the shipping thing, technically, I believe that stuff goes on sale the day they ship in Japan, since it's such a small country, so technically it's "shipped" a day later so everyone gets it the same day, or something.
