    Ix'DRG Pull

    I know there was a thread like this for Ix'MNK, I tried searching for it to see if DRG was in there, but the search function ignores 'Ix' so I get every post with 'DRG' in it...

    Anyways, LS did our first ever Ix'DRG last night, and the pull went very, very badly. I dropped from the party, diaga'd the wynavs, and bailed away from the group, while the party pulled Ix to the corner of the room. I went down (didn't make it super far, got Lullabied), but the Wynavs still went straight back to the party and didn't separate at all. We ended up killing it in the most ridiculously ghetto way you could imagine, and went 1/1 on the cape, but I'd rather not have to resort to how we did it the next time.

    Did I miss something on the pull? Is the party supposed to take it somewhere else, or am I supposed to drag the Wynavs a certain distance before they separate from the Ix?

    probably didn't get far enough away. wynavs and qn don't break their hate link with their ix' unless they get a decent distance away from what i've seen. i've not yet gone out and soloed/duoed this stuff (hopefully soon, i just need to stop being lazy and busy) but from my reading, that's my guess.

    you can kill it easily with a BLM (or RDM) and a 2nd person who can use DoTs.

    disband party, use the portals in the north rooms, damage and zone, damage and zone. have one person just focus on DoTs and zoning so it never regens.

    never successfully split the wynavs and don't really see the purpose either. any other DD that can provide burst damage would help speed up the fight without increasing risk (BLU, SMN, RNG, SAM).

    Yeah, that's exactly how we did it, me, a BLU, and 2 SAMs took turns claiming it with DoT/burst damage and zoning until it hit 10%, then the main group grabbed it and finished it.

    Figures we go 1/1 on the only cape I don't need, but DRK/MNK want to hold out on me. :/

    This is how we kill it, blm party is sent to farm exp'drg while everyone else runs around the palace/garden doing the hard work, then when he pops we break party and zone/dot/nuke till 10%ish then reform and waste him. Hardest part is getting the fucker to pop.

    I was under the impression that DRG's Wynav's don't separate hate like the Qn's on DRK since he in a DRG and they would ultimately go back to their master regardless?

    The point of ga and zone is to hold them there, you can zone back out and ga them again and just have one person hold themat the zone, instead of 3 ppl kiting.

    Well I usually go DRK to Sea and poisonga them and kite with W:Legs, or you can have another movement speed person help out.

    There is 2 situations you want to be in
    -2 spellcasters in the middle room (2nd and 3rd) near teleport
    -Larger alliance (10+, cause it's always a mess)

    If you have a small manaburn party, disband before aggroing the NM since Aerns share hate. One person keep bio on it all the time (keep in mind Aerns can erase bio with their ws and bio doesn't overwrite itself), rest of the party nuke it and zone. That way, it wont regen after it deaggro. If you failled and got linked hate, it's going to stalk you through the palace and link everything on his way until everyone hate is reseted. Hate can only be fully reseted when there is no one left alive from the party in the zone. If people logout and come back before, they are still going to have hate. The best way is to have everyone zone at the exact same time, but wipe is unavoidable at time.


    If you popped it in the 1st/4th room, it's going to be a pain to kill (if you try to manaburn it, just stick to other 2 rooms to avoid this situation). Have 2-3 people with reraise dedicated on wyvern, and rest of the party kill the aern normally (very easy when wyvern arent there). You need 2-3 on wyvern because they can lose hate, but generally, aoe damage works well enough to keep them on you. When I'm stuck kiting them, I usually go all the way around the square to twilight door, or the elevator, than run back to the portal to despawn the ghrah I aggroed. The 2nd kiter will take cares of the wyvern that come back for the group

    Been trying to farm this cape for about 6 months now -.- I am /wristing actually trying to get it to pop. Have spent up to 6hrs at a time in Gardens trying to pop this... I have yet to get it to pop for me when I am with a small group of BLMs since I started going after the cape. Of course it pops many times prior to that when we were deed farming >.>

    Small burn pt = disband, dot pull, zone, next blm dot claims, zone, nuke when dots are up, zone, reform at 10% and nuke it down. Easy but long.

    Groups of 10+ = 3 kiters, RDMs or PLD/NINs work best as they can cure themselves. RDMs can kite easily with Grav/bind etc. The rest of the alliance zergs it down in a corner to avoid Aern links. Tank, WHM and a few DDs/BLMs can do it easily. If Aerns link, sleep them til DRG is down.

    Not seen this cape drop in about a year or so >.>

    When we have a full alliance, we don't bother kiting the wynavs. One PLD will aggro Ix'DRG and pull him to one corner of the room. A 2nd PLD will flash Ix'DRG after the wynavs spawn, and bring it to the other side of the room where the rest of the ally is waiting. Ally kills Ix'DRG normally while the other PLD holds the wynavs. Leave a DRG/RDM with the wynav PLD, and they'll be a self-sufficient group for holding.
