Didn't see any topics on this yet, it's been all over the net and was curious on what people think. Is this guy just trying to get attention (mission accomplished) or does he actually believe the shit he's spouting? Personally I think he's fucking stupid and needs to be shot.

In a nutshell, he seems to think Mass Effect is nothing but a sex game where teenagers can design their player right down to their breast size and engage in any type of sex and even quote "sodomize whatever, whoever, however, the game player wishes." He then comes back the next day, after getting blasted by "gamer-nerds" saying how he is still right even though HE NEVER PLAYED THE FUCKING GAME, AND IS JUST GOING BY YOUTUBE VIDEOS

EDIT: for those of you who haven't played Mass Effect, 0% of what this guy claims is true, the "sex scene" if you can even call it that, is nothing more than half a second shot of a girl's ass, with some making out. No humping, nothing even close to showing the act itself.

I'm just astounded by his level of stupidity. How can you get the wrong impression when those videos show the scene in its entirety? How can half a second of ass turn into sodomy? It's just scary to think there may be more guys like him...

Ahaha yeah, saw this posted over on SE and got quite the laugh out of it. To be perfectly honest, I think the whole sex thing in ME was just a marketing ploy. There's not really any 'need' for it to happen, and it does piss me off that when playing a female character your only romantic option leading to sex is with Liara whereas Kaidan is not. Similarly, if Shepard can have a quasi-lesbian relationship with Liara then why not a straight up butch relationship with Ashley or a gay relationship with Kaidan? I think it's just rather lame and misogynistic writing and design on the dev's (or publisher's) part to leave those options out. Even if they wish to write Kaidan and Ashley as heterosexual characters, it would be a hoot to get to hit on them regardless of gender.

But then again, if 15 seconds of butt and side boob are raising this kind of ruckus from conservative dipshits so scared of their own sexuality and "morality", imagine the gigantic shitstorm that would have come up from "graphic" gay (male/male) sex in a video game.

Edit: On the subject, I might add that the "sex" scene(s) in Mass Effect are pretty much the most tasteful virtual depictions of sex I've ever seen. I will give credit where credit is due to the animators and scene director(s) for not making it look like some horrible porno - more like Red Shoe Diaries lol

There are better ways of doing it, however, than just shoving it down your child's throat without explaining it.

Just watched...I think both of the sex scenes? The "lesbian" one was inexplicably tame - I don't think a 10-year old watching it would even have any idea what was supposed to have happened in between those cuts. It's the -exact- same way that sex was implied in movies in the 1930s - implication between well-timed cuts.

Apparently it's more productive to pretend the ESRB doesn't exist. At least unless you're demanding that they re-rate a game or try to enforce a rating somehow.

What cracks me up is in movies - if something is released to theaters "unrated", most major theater chains won't exhibit it for fear of being pegged as a porno theater, and the films are relegated to art-house boxoffice failure (although usually just edited until they can receive an R-rating - effective censorship). But the instant an "unrated" version pops up on DVD, Best Buy and other major retailers can't get it on their shelves soon enough.

It's a sickening double-standard.

Maybe I misunderstood but I just wanted to point out that the female lead can have sex w/ Kaidan, and has a hilarious comment about him finally getting to "serve under her" in the process.

Whoever is making this fuss is ignorant. Using a 10 second clip to summarize a 30 hour game is hilarious. It'd be like saying Titanic was just about Kate Winslet disrobing.
