this game kicks ass, with the recent big patch they added a new continent and pvp/pvm war-esque things in the kr client, its fucking hella funnnnnnnnn omfg

I played this for a while aaaages ago, and while it is fun (battle modes, combos etc) the grinding is painful. The quests are basically hundreds of collect item x from mob y or kill 20 mob z, along with some stupid fetching quests it becomes pretty boring. the only fun quests you get are the ones where you go into a dungeon and have to fight a boss, those are great but even so, to clear rooms you basically just have to kill everything.

also, I dunno how the party system works, but after playing FFXI nothing ever really feels right. I spent all my time playing by myself, which kind of makes the MMO aspect redundant. Then again, I only got to like, level 50 before stopping (max at the time was 70 or 100, I forget). so maybe you need to party up after a certain level, but it's the equivilent of needing to only party when you got to level 60 in FFXI.

I got my invite to the closed beta today, anyone else get in? The e-mail makes it sound like while the game itself is free, you may have to pay for some ingame items. Is this true? I bet its the best stuff too

I just got an email saying I got in too. From what I understand on the site, it works just like most other "microtransaction games": you can spend money to buy stuff that helps you play the game, but nothing that will permanently break it. So you can get something that temporarily gives you 10% more XP or make you run faster for a couple hours or something of that sort but they won't, say, throw ridills on your shit

I think that's probably because the beta doesn't actually open until 5pm est tomorrow.

I understand but seeing as how the beta is only 4 days long I assumed they would allow us all of that time to play and not have to spend time downloading updates.

I've been playing the EU version. >.> It's pretty nice.

Only annoyance is the unexpected disconnects here and there.

Game looks pretty unique, the animations for abilities are really nice, it might take away some of the bore associated with Korean MMOs. I will download it, which class is the quickest to level or most likely to reach 100 with the least effort, i.e. gets parties easily or can solo very efficiently? I won't be able to play alot but I'd like to pick a class that is decent and levels equally as decent.

Might wanna check out all the classes here. They are all pretty sweet in my opinion. I chose Blader for my first character, you can use Blades and Katanas. ;o

I may create a Warrior or a Force Shielder and level it on the side. The gear looks too amazing to pass up.

Funny, people that own the cabal source or w/e sell it to people. There are like 50 sites hosting this shit. I played cabal a year or more ago from a "beta" service. They did upgrades then did another "beta" after the 2nd time I just lost interest. It really isn't all that bad, its just a generic Korean mmo.

One thing I can't seem to figure out... is there any form of /heal in this game? This running back to town for auto-regen is annoying. I also can't afford to buy a million HP pots everytime I decide to fight a few mobs. :3

Nevermind. Silly me... I just noticed the regeneration skill for sale at some NPC.
