I just got back from the Gamestop that I preordered brawl at, and I just noticed that my receipt says the game costs $52.99, but when I go to Gamestop.com it says Brawl costs $49.99?
Does anyone else's receipt say $52.99?

..tax?
Here in Alabama, tax on games that are 49.99 usually run around $53.60ish.
The price says $52.99 before the tax is even calculated on my receipt. It says 52.99+6% FL tx which was another dollar and change.
I'm just not trying to get ripped off here, cause I can wait a day and just buy the game at Wal-Mart for 3 dollars cheaper.
That's odd. Both the stores I work at have it priced at $49.99 which the 6% puts at $52.99. I would bring it up with them when you get back.
there is no tax on a pre-order since your not buying anything really, therefore some stores will fudge the price so that you don't have to pay tax when you get there.
that's basically it, you're tax is added on the preorder. you'd pay the exactly 52.99, nothing more when you pick it up.
ahahahahahaha
I don't think you guys are getting what i'm saying.Originally Posted by izembo

I got my copy offor only 10 bucks since I turned in two wii games that I haven't played in over 6 months.
Best ten bucks I've ever spent![]()
You pay 2% tax? My heart bleeds for you.Originally Posted by Deejay

does florida have like 8% state tax by chance? cause 49.99 + 8% or so would be in the realm of 54 bucks and maybe gamestop just fudged the receipt
you might have bought it somewhere that has an additional 2% local tax. all gamestops sells products for the exact same price, and i can guarantee you that the game is selling for 49.99
Sounds like they charged you the "brother" tax.
I've never had to pay sales tax in FL.
Lies. It's automatically added to non-food sales.Originally Posted by Remyo
Mine was $10.
working at EB games (gamestop) in texas, brawl is: $$49.99 on shelf + 8.25% tax = $$54.11 outright
