The new Cherry Muffin +1?

Are people seeing Coffee Muffins being spammed in their place on other servers? I've seen a bunch of people doing them in starter cities on Hades. They apparently NPC for roughly the same price that the Cherry +1s used to. Nobody really sells the things on the AH at least as far as I can tell.

this was discussed in the update thread... the reason cherry muffins were spammed so hardcore was that a level 96 cook could hit t3 on them. you can only t2 coffee muffins. that said, they yield 4 muffins per synth, and NQs npc for a little under 200g a pop, HQs about 550 a pop, so easily on a good moon phase easy way to make some bank. the kicker about coffee muffins is that the +1s are actually really nice food for when you're willing to sacrifice mnd for mp(witch kabobs vs. coffee +1) or want a good mp boost w/o a 3 hour food(namely marron glace).

angry face me all you want, it's a pain in the ass recipe that does nothing if taken over by rmt, other than giving you the idea to sell fire crystals in sandy and bumps bird egg prices maybe 1k a stack.

i'd also like to point out for the record that while the npc prices were unchanged on coffee muffins, i did expand on their virtues as food, not just 'hur hur go to sandy and set up a craft bot lulz'

I actually saw the same cook bot spamming cherry and coffee muffins before the update, now guess what I see 24/7?

I'll repeat it as its been said before but not very clear: Coffee muffins fucking suck to make.

So you have to go through 3 syntheses MINIMUM to make these things, with a key item, involving different crafts. There's a reason a stack of these god damn things costs 10k on the AH

Well maybe the statement they suck to make is a bit too strong. I did some crafting to see whether this was difficult or easy gil.

Compared to quite a few foods these muffins not so bad too make. My main has cooking 99+3 and alchemy 60 and I have a mule with alchemy at 89.

With main I synthed 6 stacks of coffe beans to roasted beans. 6 stacks purchased from npc yielded 20 stacks + 4 roasted beans!

So I sent 8 stacks of the roasted beans to alchemy mule and the result was 13 stacks of coffee powder.

So going from regular beans to powder is easy because the stuff stacks and also if you have the right skills then it is an easy hq that amplifies what you purchased from NPC at both steps. You can pretty much count on tripling or more beans to roast beans and almost double roast beans to powder.

Anyway, in my case I have too many fire crystals accumulating from gardening weeds so it was a good use of crystals. Not counting the cost of Fire crystals and buying stuff from npc, my average cost per synth of coffe muffins was 349 gil.


My sell to npc was a total of 2,208 for all product of 1 hq synth

944 gil for all product of a nq synth

Very boring, but not terribly inconvienent like making tacos or coerl subs. By the time I synthed through all the damn 20 stacks of roast beans from the original purchase of 6 stacks of coffee beans, I seriously was sick of this synth.

I suppose this a way to make gil but it is BORING. Gil/hr not that great so this method doesnt totally fail but it is kinda lame.

If you try this, I suggest doing it when sandy is in first place and also owns Zulkheim. This will enable you to get all the stuf you need except the beans in sandy.

here on quetzy i have witnessed a coupl suspects cooking these for a few hours on end in bastok at the region vendor in port... there naked anon no ls.. the usuall odd style names....

i dont have a problem with this recapie as i dont think overall it would net a huge amount of gil from rmt types..but still lol ide rather make my monie doing more fun things than this...
