Stuck inbetween zones

I logged out in a salvage run last night. I went to log in this morning, and while I was being transferred between the salvage zone and alzadaal, my connection shit the bed and I DCed. Now whenever I try to log in to my main character, it holds at the downloading screen and eventually gives me a FFXI-3001. I called a GM from my mule but just got a lame canned response saying they couldn't do shit.

Anyone have this issue before and know of a remedy?

I just got hit with the same problem. It's a dead zone. I got mine in windurst fucking woods of all places, and now I"m stuck there, GMs said the same shit. I think I'll probably need to reinstall, I had to last time.

This just now happened to a friend of mine lol. He can't log on his main at all. He called a GM and they told him to "fix his files" , or something like that. Awkward, this has happened to me but I recovered within 15 minutes.

R0'd, then black screened (Downloading data...) for ages, then got back in, R0'd again, etc.

Have someone (you trust of course) log on as you then move you somewhere else, preferably less crowded. You should be able to log in then.

This is the correct answer this happens every once in a while to my RL friend and I have to log into his character for him, move him to a new area then he can log back in.

Friend of mine had this problem and just tried to log in constantly for about 15 min and it worked

I noticed a lot of you guys live in Chicago. This happened to me last night too around 1:30am central while I was soloing puddings for buffer, and which also lasted about 15min. I also live in Chicago and use Comcast, although I don't think it's Comcast-specific because someone from my LS--who lives nearby in Wisconsin, but isn't on comcast--had issues at the same time (causing him to miss chariot drop of skadi leg and ares feet 25s, both of which he needed ;x).

Exact same thing happened to me last night (I was in Tempyst's Salvage group). My game completely froze up while we were farming the 3F rampart with about 8 minutes left, CPU usage shot up to 100%, and I had to kill the process. I restarted and logged back in, then got R0 5 seconds later. After d'cing again and restarting I kept getting stuck at the black "downloading data" screen; at this point the group had been kicked from Salvage. Wasn't able to log on for the rest of the night or this morning, but fortunately the problem seems to have fixed itself now.

Happened to my mule last night when I dc'd her entering salvage, tried to log back on her later and couldn't. Had to have a friend log on and move her to another zone, then I could log on with no problems. Friend had the same issue last night with Al'Tieau. I guess with some an epic update coming up SE figured it had to fuck us some other way.

Happened to me two years ago.

Disconnect from router and plug directly into modem. Log in, should be fixed. Change zones just once, then logout and reconnect modem. Should be golden.

Well I dc'd last night, then it didn't work a full 8 hours later when I woke up. I tried rezoning to windy woods earlier, and I DC'd again, both on my xbox and on my PC. I keep having to make my girlfriend bring me to whitegate.

This happened to a guy on my LS (to his main character). GMs told him the same thing ("check your files, lol"). After a few days, he got unstuck. It sucked for him until then.

I uh had this issue exiting a salvage run the other night, tried to log back on a few times and PS2 kept freezing after i selected character and it goes to the black screen like its loading.. except it never does, but it was a total freeze cuz like, the music keeps playing.

Anywho, i fixed it by logging on using my laptop and running to whitegate, then switching back to ps2.

I've actually been having this problem with various zones for well over a year, currently i cant enter sauromague(sp?) on ps2, past zones have been anywhere from rolanberry to al zahbi to port jeuno, it really sucked and changed with each update, all the tech guys tell me to do is 'reinstalll!1!!!1!one!' or check files or something, they have no idea what it is. Its probably just my PS2 shitting out, seeing as how i can move on my laptop and never get stuck on it.

Also, the zone i cant enter at all seem to change with every big update or maint, but every zone has a chance that my ps2 will freeze in it, so after each update its sorta like Russian roulette, which zone is gonna get me this time! Gets kinda annoying after over a year of this shit.

I really don't know the problem ; ; and its really annoying, wish i could just fix it
