    Item notify program

I am working on a small program to parse data from FFXIAH.com

In other words i am creating a program that has the possiblity to give you heads up if an item becomes in stock or if your item sold, by a prompting a pop up on your computer.

As of now the program is kind of lame atm, but works for the most part. The program has the ablity to pull data from their website and tell you how many items are in stock and also the ablity to do that with a start and interval timer. I worked on it to check and see if the item is existant, in stock, how many, no search results, or is stackable.

Let me know if you think something should be added to this program.

Also if you want I can post a video of the usage of the program.

P.S. this program only goes through FFXIAH.com and does not touch any FFXI software it is 100% legal to use this in any means.

Keep it for personal use. Pretty sure I saw at one point that they did not want these kinds of programs being distributed because it would kill their servers.

Theres also a huge delay on FFXIAH.com, so anyone actively camping the ingame AH, they will get it first. So not like the program is going to break anything.

Ya I was thinking about keeping it to myself, but really this program doesn't use a whole lot of bandwidth to FFXIAH, just takes page source.

Also if you thinking that botter will use this, more than likely they have a program like mine or better, also people can do the same thing, just it makes it easier instead of spaming the website every so often for info on your item, this program gives you un update on it.

Yeah, someone actually did write something like this last year for FFXIAH.com. It was a task bar/system tray icon that popped up when an item of yours sold.

I saw a few screenies, but I don't think he ever released it.

Would email notification directly from ffxiah.com be too much to ask from them? It'd require less bandwidth than people writing utilities to periodically query the database, but it might as a whole use more bandwidth since it might be a fairly popular feature.

    Re: Item notify program

If anyone wants to test out the program I posted it here http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/9060 ... zipqx4.jpg

Just take that image and rename it to zip make sure both the jar file and its folder are side by side when running the program, and yes it does require JRE 5. I have the program set to the remora server only, also if you need to end the item input under item name leave it blank.

Still early stages on this program and i am a noivice programer so bare with me.

Let me know what you like or what more importantly can be to make it better.

    Thanks,
    AK

if it was smart enough it wouldn't matter, so long as you're on the same network you'd still be boned.

    Definitely not the same network

Although, is it really possible for a keylogger to scan computers directly associated on the same network? That seems a little far out there for any normal keylogger.

1 FFXI doesn't need to be installed like I mention it goes to FFXIAH website.
2 Have firefox or having IE or safari doesn't mater either, it uses the java program language to pull the data off of the website.
3 I will work for any OS as long as you can get JRE into it.

    @Avanarius

Its not a keylogger most keyloggers are now hashed from other keylogger which means that they will be picked up on you antivirus program as soon as its download, anyway i used nod32(probably the best A/V) and it doesn't scan for anything.

More than likely you just need to update your JRE.

It should pop up with a Window saying "Basic Application Example". under file menu is "View set timmer", which is an invalid item atm, "Create timmer" which prompts you "Name of item" on the top middle, "Time to start in minuets" also works in 0.1 minuets, and lastly on the right "Intervals in minuets", Use a blank item name to stop input and start timer process. As long is this program runs and you get a pop up of if and how many X items are in stock for X mins and start form X mins from now. Lastly on the file menu is "inquire stock".
