    Zhayolm Q

OK~ so tonight my salvage group will be finishing its first 2 pieces (as a group) and I have a question. The 2 15's we need are Usu feet and Marduk legs... both 100% from F4 zhayolm frog. I was just wondering (since to pop NM gotta make it to F4 in under 30m) are there any other NMs or the boss that we can hit on the run also, or is it basically after F4 we done (I assume hard to gear the 3 people to pop F5?). Thanks in advance !

Not true. You should always at least be able to hit the boss unless something goes unexpectedly wrong, and if you're fast and somewhat lucky you can do 5N > 6F > boss. At worst you can attempt to go for 5F > 6F > boss and abort and port up early if you are short on time.

Its pretty challenging to do 30min frog and do 5f, 6f and boss. Kinda depends what your group consists of. If its a perfectly set up group with like 6-7 people it will be easier to do more than just the 30min frog. However the further it is away from a ideal setup, the harder it will be to hit up much more than the 30min frog. Will be definately challenging to at least do it on your first attempt. I guess it just depends on your group dynamics. As you get more acquainted with Zhayholm you will probably get better at it and can add more to the run if you are unable to at the moment.

Just kill 1F every run You'll eventually get the 15s faster than you get 35s, without the need for heart attack super-fast runs.

As far as I know, you can get 1 of every cell EXCEPT for MP on the 4th floor.

Does that mean you have to kill a rampart every time you need to repeat the floor???

I dont do this often... but I almost have to call bullshit on this...

    Lets time this out:
    10 min on first floor.
5 min to clear NE wing and mamool (if your fast, but will probably 6-7 minutes). 2-5 min to kill madame(if lucky on charm).
    Jacko = 2-3 min
Then splitting up and farming each room (have to hit 2 cell mobs per wing, and with just 2 people killing will take at -least- 3-4 minutes + travel time and targetting time.
Your looking at about 20-30 min on 2nd floor (20 if your lucky as -hell-)

Lets say your fucking awesome and had -no- charms on madame and smoked everything else, ill give you 15 min on that floor (20-25 probably). That gives you 5 min to farm mp on 3rd(hope your lucky, but 5 min is almost enough time to get alot of stats unlocked).

So if your stupidly luckier than any run ive been on in zhayolm in about 100 ZRs, you can hit 2ndmadame/jacko/mp and still hit 4th floor criteria.

But thats not even what Im bullshiting: The part i dont see is the stats farming/hp farming on 4th floor. The drop rates suck decently on that floor and the madame takes a few minutes to kill IF it isnt being a charm spam bitch.

My group smokes the zone and we barely have time to do 5th/6th and boss. I dont see you gettin the extra time to kill 4th floor AND cycle port through 4th floor multiple times to unlock cells. Unless your madames just plain dont charm lol.

    Re: Zhayolm Q

This was discussed at some length in the big Zhayolm thread around pp71-72, and when our group pulled it off I posted a little more info on p78. Once you get to 4F you have a lot more time than I think you are budgeting for. You have 70 minutes to kill 4F Madame, farm stats/HP if needed, kill 5F madame, kill 6F madame, clear room and kill boss.

You shouldn't need too much stat farming on 4F either, assuming you cleared first and 3rd room on 3F for your first 3 sets of stats to get the 3 MPs you need; maybe just the ones on that floor and maybe cycle through once more. I think you are confusing mamools with gents for the drop rates you mentioned. Gents drop next to nothing, BLM and WHM mamools in the room next to rampart room have fixed drops, which total one of each kind of cell per floor repeat. You also don't need to kill Jakko; just pop it.

Ok, I will try this next time and see our luck. I didnt know you just had to pop jacko to meet the qualification..

Is it the same way with the second floor madame?

No, only Jakko. Make sure you claim Jakko before warping. I.E. name is red.

I never popped Jakko and claimed it. It was always yellow when we warped and it was fine.

Buddy, don't call bullshit where it's not warranted.

If it takes you 10 minutes to clear first floor, try something a little different. We take roughly 8 minutes to clear the 4 inner rooms (and 1 magic if necessary).
Second floor, port up north east, clear room, pop frog. One of the monks I go with is exceptionally good at stunning frog chorus with shoulder tackle. We then split up, clear rooms (yes it takes 3-4 mins) reconvene at jakko's room, clear 2 droppers and pop jakko and port up.
(Remember, you might need only 1 armor drop mob if you got a lucky item from the chest)
Floor 3 - farm 3 mp with the 5-10 mins you should have left - My pt made it to the room with the mamool + lizard pets before we were at 29:30 and they were sweating to port up. We only needed 3 mnd and vit from the next floor.
Floor 4 - kill frog, and you're guaranteed 1 of each other cell every time you cycle through.

It's more than doable. If you get 2 magic instead of 2 ja out of starting chest, it helps a lot. Also, any spare armor (hat feet or gloves) will help speed it up as well.

Guarenteed 1 of each other type of cell? Not sure what you mean by this.

And your mnk shoulder tackles chorus O.o. so he store tps for it? Or just gets lucky on timing?

    Re: Zhayolm Q

He stores tp and stuns it when it comes up in chatlog. He's really good, and fast at it. We've done frogs where they get 0 chorus off because he stuns them all. He'll sit at 300 tp and wait for chorus instead of pumping out asurans, but it cuts down on our kill time a lot (unless we enter on thunder day of course)

As for guaranteed one of each cell - if you clear that room of mamools, you're guaranteed to get 1 of each type of cell except mp. They drop in pairs, and im not sure, but I think we noticed a correlation between cell droppers and non cell droppers based on mamool name.

    Re: Zhayolm Q

My group's considering doing a 4F Frog run soon since we have someone waiting on the 15 Usukane Feet and the 1F Frog hasn't dropped for us. I'd like to see if we can also hit the boss, although I sincerely doubt we'll have any luck popping the 5F and 6F frogs considering this will be our 3rd overall run in this zone (we still fail pretty hard at stunning Frog Chorus and a lot of members aren't all that familiar with the layout and requirements to pop everything yet). Our setup is usually MNK MNK WAR RDM COR WHM BRD THF BLM or some small variation thereof. A couple questions:

    1) On the 4th floor, do the 12 Poroggo Gents link with the Madame when you pull it? If so, is a Dynamis-like sac pull the way to go here where we pick off the Madame as it runs by?

    2) If we're rushing to the 4th floor, we probably won't have time to get very many HP cells for people on the 3rd floor. We'll probably have 8-9 people with us to spread out Discoid damage, but I'm still worried about our taru mages being able to survive it if they don't have HP unlocked. Is BCC doable with HP-locked players?

    3) Some people have mentioned repeating the 4th floor to get cells off of the Mamools there. Are there particular mamools that drop specific cells on this floor that we should be targeting? I'm not seeing any information regarding their drops on either the BGWiki or OtherWiki.

Things of note: Doing 4f frog AND boss with 9 people would be extremely difficult. You would be better off with 6-7 people tops than 9. (Tell two straight up that they arent getting jack shit for gear/cells). If you can gear up 9 people properly, my hat is off to you.

    1) The poroggo gents link. Yes, you will have to "sac" pull. Hide works on all poroggos, use your thief to your advantage.

    2) Not so sure, we seemed to notice some sort of correlation (and every mob in zhayolm has a drop set) - however, it might differ per instance of which rampart you used to repopulate the floor.

    3) HP cells are difficult to get sometimes, however on our run with 6 people, since we were fast enough, we were able to get 6 hp cells before having to port up to the 4th floor, so it wasn't an issue. Redmages can survive through BCC with HP locked, since their stoneskin is extremly strong. Perhaps a whitemage could as well. Other jobs would probably have difficulty staying alive.

There are 6 mamools, 2 BLUs, 2 BLMs, 2 WHMs. The BLUs drop nothing, but for the BLMs and WHMs, I forget how it is distributed but killing those 4 always yields one each of HP, STR, DEX, VIT, AGI, INT, MND, and CHR.
