Question About steps

I was wonder when u perform a step on a mob once it is already lvl5, what does it do, does it Increase duration by 30 seconds, Reset whole duration so lasts 3 minutes from it, does it reset timer for last 30 seconds of it, nothing?, or something else?

It does increase the duration but by how much I am unsure. I am doubting it is 3 minutes but I could be wrong (it feels faster)

I don't think its 3 minutes at all. You miss more than 2 steps in a row, and you can kiss that shit goodbye.

it just acts as another step, so it extends the duration by 30seconds. i'm pretty sure you weren't asking this, but it also only returns 1FP instead of 2.

well better way to word it does it add 30 seconds to duration so can be more than 3:00, or does it restore missing time so that duration is up to 3 minutes(no more than 30seconds added again)?, so if was 1:45 minutes left on lvl 5 and 4 people used steps(and hit) would duration now be 3:00 or 3:45?

My DNC experience says steps never seem to last more than about 90 seconds no matter what level is on it. <_< Not sure where you got 3 minutes from. Also, the first one lasting 60 seconds doesn't seem right either but I never timed just one step.
