So I got to see an advanced screening tonight. It was really quite refreshing. I didn't walk in with any expectations and it turned out pretty dog on good. Make sure you stay about a min after the credits start to.

have never gone to a theatre to see a will ferrell movie. they are usually on hbo within 7 months.
I saw an advanced screening yesterday as well, where you located swampdonkey?
I also thought the movie was pretty good, I saw it in May as well, and they edited and added in new scenes.
Cary, NC. Nowhere near Arizona. =/
Whoa, Cary. I live in Chapel Hill. Lived in Cary for a few weeks, at the apartments behind the Taco Bell at Harrison and Maynard (actually nice place). You go to school in the area?
Yea, N.C. State.
I've come to dislike Will Ferrell. This didn't look any better. He's just pumping out movies like crazy.

This alone makes me want to see this movie.
Saw it tonight, not bad at all. I am wondering for anyone who saw it, what was the name of the opera song he sang?
"Con te Partiro"
Anyways. Movie was pretty lame. It had its moments.. but honestly they were just extended moments that you saw from the previews. Not worth the $10.
I found the plot rather shallow and predictable. Normally this is something you can say ok to when it comes to a comedy... Your there to laugh, not look for an award winning story. But the predictability was as bad as watching another Rocky or Mighty Ducks movie. Very A, then B, leads to C, The end.
I found way too many situations rather embarrassing and simply not funny in any way whatsoever... Seriously... the car scene with his brother?...
What was up with the use of "Fuck" for the sake of inserting it in an attempt to make an unfunny scene possibly look funny...
I think the biggest disappointment was that this movie had a lot of potential. I have a little brother that is only two years younger then me. From my perspective I thought this was going to be a hilarious movie that I could relate to. But I really feel they barely scratched the "I Hate your guts" and the "Did we just become best friends" part of the relationship. They could have gone with soooo much material.. But instead it half asses an attempt to "make a movie" out of the comedy.
I loved Anchorman... and yet again.. I still think that was the only good Will Ferrell with that "open brainstorm sketch" style of writing. I once knew what they called this style of writing... where they basically write down as much stuff that randomly comes to mind and pull from the pull of crap to make something funny.
Not worth the ticket price... I'd wait to rent it or download it if you feel compelled to see it for the sake of saying you saw it.
Funny, I lived in Cary for 9 years :D
To me, this is the best comedy movie that has come out since Anchorman... I thought it was hilarious.
