    Bills vs. Steelers in Toronto

Well, the Bills play the first of eight games to be held over five years in Toronto tonight.

There has been a lot of talk about the NFL coming to Canada and more specifically, the Bills relocating to Toronto.

I want to know what you guys think about this possible venture.

Some NFL fans hate it, some like it, some CFL (Canadian Football League) fans feel this may be the end of the CFL all together.

    Waht do you think?

I'm all for exporting the NFL to Canada, if Canada wants the NFL.

my friend that is a die hard Bills fan hates it. however if they are able to find a big market there it could be good for the franchise. i know right now they are one of the smallest market teams and dont bring in anywhere near the money most of the other organizations do.

Carolina is in a weather delay in Philly, I wish they would switch to the Bills game so I dont have to listen to Aikman and Buck talk about nothing for an hour.

There's no love in Toronto for the Argonauts, why would they want another failing football team?

Born and raised in NY, big-time Bills fan. Made it to the Super Bowl four times in a row (although I'd prefer to forget three of them...); otherwise, they've done alright, typically close to .500 with the exception of 2005 and 2001.

I wouldn't really care too much if they were moved to Toronto though; still the Bills and I don't live in NY anymore so it's not like I'm missing the chance to go to Orchard Park.

So true, though they are trying to remedy the Argonaut problem by moving the games to BMO field. It worked well in Montreal so it could have the same effect in Toronto.

On topic, I really dislike this move. Most of Canada doesn't need or want the NFL. It's mainly just the suits in T.O that feel the need to impress the states that are pushing for this. The CFL is better football anyway. In any case I don't see this as being the end of the CFL. Hell the fans in Saskatchewan are as crazy as die hard Soccer fans in Europe, no way the NFL coming to T.O has any effect on them or the teams out west.

Isn't the highest paid CFL player now a 2nd string Special Teams player on the Bengals?

    Something of that nature.

I hate the Bills, always have. I would rather not see them move here but would rather like to see us just start a new franchise, altho chances of that happening are pretty damn slim. So if it's the only way to get an NFL team up here then I'd be game for having them move here. I think there's more then a big enough market for an NFL team up here to, altho it would have a dramatic impact on the Argo's and the Tigercats as well, but oh well don't really care too much for the CFL.

Warren Moon, Doug Floutie, Jeff Garcia, Mike Vanderjac are just a few of the players that have gone from the CFL to NFL and had great success. Kenton Keith of the colts is one that just went to NFL and could be an impact players in the future. Making a judgement based on one player, Casey Printers, who thought he was due for a huge payday in the NFL because he had one good season in CFL, and couldn't even make the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad isn't really fair. Yeah he's the highest paid player in the CFL right now, but he's not even the starting quarterback for the worst team in the league and isn't even an elite player. If Hamilton wasn't so desperate because they haven't made the playoffs in like five years he wouldn't be getting paid anywhere near as much as he is now.

Anyway way I just feel the CFL is a more exciting brand of football. Not saying you all have to like it, but I wouldn't knock it till you've actually taken the time to watch it.

The main reason that the Argonaughts failled in the first place is because... well, have you ever watched the CFL? It sucks. There's only 8 teams, or something close to that, the rules aren't as exciting as the NFLs in an attempt to differentiate the two, and all the good players get drafted to the NFL. I have a feeling the Bills in Toronto will be a huge hit among Canadian football fans.

I like the CFL but saying its better than the NFL is the equivalent of saying a 1-A Ball team is just as talented as the Redsox. I mean seriously... I agree about the Moon, Flutie, the liquored up kicker Vanderjerk comments, but Flutie was mediocre at best in the NFL Vanderjact a flash in the pan and was good for only a few seasons and has since fallen off the face of the planet. (Hi2u Gramatica brothers) If you can count all of your good players that make the transition on one hand its a fail league.

Toronto signed Lawrence Phillips for gods sake after he beat up his GF for the 4th time and was kicked off of the Rams team and expelled from the league. CFL, taking in and glorifying the NFL's trash since it's inception.

I'm about 50/50 on this. There has been talk about a NFL team moving to TO for close to 20 years now and there has been no real action on it. Many of my friends love football but they hate the CFL, so this could be a decent move. Many southern Ontarians travel to Buffalo to watch the Bills so this could also be beneficial to them.

However, the market may not be large enough in TO to really warrant a NFL team here as most people follow Hockey like its a religion (me included)

The main problem with the CFL isn't the rules difference, it's that the NFL pays way better so talent gets sucked out of the league fairly quickly.

Toronto is a horrible city for sports. The only sport the people really care for is hockey, and the Maple Leafs are terrible. Their market is huge, they should competing for the cup every year. Unfortunately the fans will sell out the arena no matter how bad the team is, and the owners know this.

Believe it or not, Vanderjegt is the kicker for the Argos now lol. Big mistake releasing Noel Prefontaine for this washed up kicker.

I won't get into a CFL vs NFL thing because I'm a passive football watcher anyways. I wouldn't mind seeing the NFL in Toronto but I don't think the Bills should leave. I hate seeing teams move unless its in a market that doesn't deserve it (Sup Carolina Hurricane fans).
