    PS3 & network connectivity issue.

I figured I'd run my problem through BG before I called out the Cox Cable ppl...

Here is how everything is setup (w/I am gonna go over incase the issue is in the router by chance): I live in a guest house of the main house. The Main house has the Cox Cable modem w/they run into a fairly new Linksys router. This Lynksys router is what's run's into my house. I run in into my Lynksys router (referred to as Lynksys2 for simplicity sake) w/goes to my computer, PS3, & Xbox 360.

Now I have never had any problems before I got my PS3... Not w/my 360 or computer (and I have been living at this place for 4 years now - didn't have the 360 for that long obviously). But ever since I got my PS3 I'd say... about 60% of the time I go "online" w/it, I lose internet (I don't lose internet 30 seconds or a few minutes after connecting to the PSN network, I lose internet the second I click "sign in"). I fix everything by unplugging the main houses Lynksys for 30 seconds. And this doesn't happen everytime I go "online" w/my PS3, but it happens enough and its annoying as hell.

Anybody have any idea's? I'd assume it was the router, but it makes no sense why I only have problems w/ the PS3 and nothing else

Try disabling uPnP in the router config. See if that works. Also, do you have media sharing enabled on the ps3? Try disabling that too.

Wow, thanks.... I woulda never thought that the media sharing on the PS3 was causing the problems. I still don't understand why it was causing the router to shut down, but glad turning that off worked. thank you!
