You should NOT always go for what the NA version says! Many things are jokes the NA translation team brought in and did NOT directly grow on SEs shitpile.

For example most of the FL Assault names are bonked comparing the JP and NA names:

Bloody Rondo (NA) < > Operation Hellsing (JP)
The Price is Right (NA) < > Operation Killerlord (JP)
The Susanoo Shuffle (NA) < > Operation Susanoo (JP)

It seems the NA translation team seems to be wanting to create and bring their own jokes into the game.


Also vice versa there are a lot of JP jokes in the game where they play around with kanjis that you simply cannot translate into the English version.

now i like the JP version :/

not sure if American had a version of it but we did have a really bad game show called Bruce's price is right (mid 70's till 90's i think)

also Anyone found the FoolKiller yet? since thats ment to be based off of a comic?

and no FFXI name's of stuff has always needed a revamp but what can i do other then Complain to other people who like myself dislike the constancy of there "naming" system not always bad but not always "Great, Now show me your moves" :/

We also got some pretty amusing BCNM names (Shell we dance?), I think most of the JP ones are rather plainly named.

Regardless, pop culture references in MMOs aren't new. I'm just glad that FFXI hasn't gone overboard with it like some others.
