Project Runway Season 5!!!!

Season 5 is here! The LAST season that is (ever?) going to be on Bravo! Of course it will move to Lifetime network after this season, however for right now let's stick to the present.

The first episode, I thought, was pretty good. Some early contenders I foresee are Kelli, Keith, and Terri. The bio page is here: ( http://www.bravotv.com/Project_Runwa...bios/index.php ) for those of you that don't know their names yet. I didn't really like Suede or Blayne. Blayne seems waaaaaay too Christian-esque of last season, and even though Christian was my favorite, I can only take so much "ferocity". Stella was also a bit weird. Her pants in the grocery store made me go WTF??? and so did Wesley's little shorts... .........??? What were those???

But overall, the challenge was pretty fun. Personally I didn't even think about tablecloths, but I did like what some people managed to put together with them. I'm eager to see what some of the upcoming challenges are going to be, and I really am hoping that they don't have anymore boring ass men challenges like last season.

Anyway, what did you guys think of this opening episode?

I didnt like any of them, although I did wish that Asian fellow could have stuck around just to see what he could have come up with.

I wanted Blayne to get kicked off. The combination of worst outfit + worst up-front personality made it easy to root against him. Unfortunately, it was hard to root for anyone in the first episode. So few of them made anything interesting. I forget the girl's name that won (dyed vacuum bags, coffee filter dress), but she certainly deserved to win that challenge. Until we get to see more challenges and more of their personalities I'll be rooting for Leanne, the girl that made the pink tablecloth dress with the candy on it, but only because her glasses make her adorable.

yeah i agree, it was hard to root for anyone in particular.
i like that guy who worked at Marc Jacobs or whatever... forgot his name
but i like the way he dresses <3

I wonder how much it hurts these people to be the first ones voted off of Project Runway. That Asian guy obviously had a store, and has designed collections before based on his application reel. He said he was the next big thing...but now that he got voted off FIRST, do you think his chances at success have been shot?

Looking back, I liked Suede more than I realized. He reminds me of Kane from Season 3, like a nice gay guy that isn't all in your face like Christian or Blayne seem to be.

I really liked Christian. I just think he was fun and I loved the style of his clothes so I have a hard time not comparing everyone else to him

I loved Christian too, but that's the thing. HE was Christian, and he was great and he was such a little diva. He was a great designer, had a really fun and enjoyable attitude (I thought), and then here comes Blayne trying to be Christian 2.0. It really annoyed me!

i just hate the way blayne looks, but i really didnt mind his outfit. there was a degree of workmanship behind that "diaper" thing the girl had one, but i totally wanted the asian guy to go home for that COMPLETE costume of a dress. I'm rooting for korto or terri to win, with daniel and kelly being strong competition

So....I personally thought Suede's dress was hideous, and he won! lol Stella really surprised me. I'm excited to see what else she can produce. Kenley or Stella should of won imo .

I actually thought his design was really well done. Stella is a fucking edge, she'll get booted off soon enough I bet.

I too was sad that Wesley left but honestly his outfit was pretty bad ( I was ready to throw korto and loopy dress lady under a bus if it kept Wesley around) I personally liked Kenley's dress the best and I was impressed with the amount of work Suede put in but I wasn't a fan of it.

Blayne needs to be shot out of a cannon never to be heard from again. . . -licious must die and I can only hope that we don't have another ricky that squeaks by all the way til near the end.. (Or Lisa from Top Chef)

This season hasn't been the best, but holy shit was yesterday's drag queen episode amazing. Prolly one of the best episodes I have have seen of the show:

I have to say that with each passing week I am becoming more and more enamored with Terri's designs. She's consistently good and the majority of the others seem especially lackluster this season. . . which is probably why she's standing out in my mind <.<

Terri purposely grabbed the most out there queen and really let herself be creative, I really liked it. She is pretty good, she just needs to stand out a bit more.
I'd like Kenley if she wasn't such a snob... it's really a turn off.
Stella makes me laugh but she isn't really diverse in her outfits, as much as I like the dark biker leather stuff.
Korto is really good with being diverse but sticking to her own style, and she doesn't put up with crap. I think she's top for me right now.

As much as I hate his 3rd person talking, I think Suede has a shot to be top 3. I also think Terri has been consistently good. I still stand by my earlier comment of wanting Leanne to be around for awhile because she's adorable.
