    Xbox 360 Problem

Ok. So I own and Xbox Elite and just the other day when playing Tiger Woods the color went askew. I thought it would just be the game and that restarting the xbox would fix the problem and I would be all set. Well, i retarted the xbox and the problem was fixed for a short time but then it again got messed up. A day or so later I was playing some Halo 3 and the color went askew again. This time i turned it off expecting it to be fixed when i turned it back on. Only it never turned back on, the battery pack light went red and it was being tempramental.

So i let it sit for the night and turned it on in the morning and i got power to the xbox this time but not picture to my TV. Then brought it over to my brothers house and hooked it up to hix Xbox cables and again got power to the xbox but no picture. Anyway, just wanted to know if anyone has had this problem before or if you know of a good site where i can look up info for this besides the XBOX live forums. I cant get tot hose at work. Any help would be appreciated.

Will they fix this problem if I call and send it back in or is this something i could fix myself if i opened it up?

    Thanks.

Yeah, I brought it over to my brothers place last night and hooked it up. It powered up fine but no picture.

Sounds like the mainboard is farked. If it hasn't RROD yet, it probably would if you left it on for a little while longer.

Hate to bump this up but I just read on Wiki that there are some known video failure problems. I am pretty sure this is what is wrong with my xbox 360 elite. I called them a few days ago and talked to the scripted, unhelpful support people who wouldnt help me because i dont have the 3 red lights. He said i could send it back to them and get it fixed for $100 but i dont really want to do that.

Just wondering if there is any info anyone has on this. I googled a bit and found nothing. I am going to leave it on for a while and see if the red lights possibly appear. Are the few generic xbox repair sights reliable at all?

    Thanks again.

Ok i read there that i can wrap it in a towel or something to make it overheat. I'm going to leave it on overnight and if it isnt red by the morning im going to wrap it in a towel to force the RRD. ANyone done this before?

Don't leave a 360 wrapped in towels running overnight unattended. If you want to do something like that, you need to supervise the procedure, unless you're looking to start something on fire. If you're going to force a RROD, don't leave it unattended.

On a side note, you said when it stopped the one time, the light on the power supply went red. Have you considered that you may have a faulty power supply?

Yep. I tried bringing it to my brothers house and hooking it up to with his power supply/HDMI. It did not work there either, the video card inside is definitely the problem. But it wont cause the RRD.

I plan on watching it while thrying to get it to overheat as well.

    Thanks for the help.

Turn it up on its end when you do; the weight of the heatsinks might help warp it out of place and cause the RROD, believe it or not XD
