Wii Component Problem

I don't know whether it's just me but after switching over to component cables, the way the graphics are being shown to me on my hdtv are worst than using normal ones...
It's more pixelated and jagged edges can be seen

Anyone know how to solve this problem?

Could possibly be a hardware issue. I have a friend next door that had a similar sounding issue to yours. Everything he tried to play any game (Zelda: TP in specific) on component cables his graphics looks horrible like atari. If he used S-Video. It looked better.

In the end he called Nintendo and they repaired and replaced the unit for him. They never told him what was actually wrong.

I think the Wii has problems with its component out, since it's not really designed to work above 480p.

Get it replaced, and if it still does it then chances are it's not going to work on your HDTV.

it's not the component, it's your hdtv

try to see if you can get it to display at 480p without stretching out the image, that fixed it for me

it auto switched to 480p when i select progressive under the option menu
and i set my tv screen size to full

I had the same problem with my HDTV when I first plugged the Wii into it... I had to tune down the sharpness to like a -5 to get a clear picture.

Then again, you have to remember that 480p is still shit.

thx maybe i'll play around with the settings like sharpness
but then again could it be just tp problem?

i haven't tried my ssbb and mario galaxy yet since completing them

480p displays fine on my TV. I think you need to check your TV's settings to make sure that it auto-switches.

Check your manual to make sure that your TV can also force 480p display. I have to do that for my cable box since not every channel is 1080i.

It's all been said before but a friend of mine had the same problem too.

It turned out to be a damaged Wii and he had to get it fixed.

My suggestions:
1. Check your TV. . .
2. Check the game's options (Progressive stuffs, etc. I know Smash Brawl has a way to ticker between sharp/smooth and widescreen/regular... which somehow messing around with fixed Brawl from looking like crap on my LG HDTV)
3. Send the Wii back (which if you can't do, you maybe SOL)
