This question is a long shot
Let's say I was a Notary Public for my state (Which I recently became) and I bought an account and the guy recalled it on me and kept the money. Would I be considered a scammer if I filled out a notary form and notarized it myself and sent it in?
-
I would think that could potentially be very bad if he were to do the same thing.
-
The idea of a notary is to have a third party to witness the signing of the document. In that spirit I'd be surprised if ANY state allowed you to notarize a document for yourself.
-
Yeah I highly doubt that would work. Don't you know anyone else who can do it?
-
I'm relatively sure it is not only immoral, but illegal to notarize documents for yourself.
-
In New York, notarizing your own stuff, true or not, is 1 year, and notarizing any document you know to be false is 4 years. Since it also involves falsifying a statement to be used for transfer of goods, they could also tack on a Class D felony, which is another 7.
So 12 years, 2 felony counts and a misdemeanor, at least here. Your call, buddy.
-
ITT FFXI is worth going to jail for.
If the guy already recalled the account then he already did the notarized document thing most likely.
You're going to immediately raise suspicion if you do it.
-
You're going to do it anyhow.
Do it.

There I was completely wasting, out of work and down.
All inside it's so frustrating as I drift from town to town.
Feel as though nobody cares if I live or die.
So I might as well begin to put some action in my life.
Breaking the law, breaking the law!
Breaking the law, breaking the law!
Breaking the law, breaking the law!
Breaking the law, breaking the law!
So much for the golden future, I can't even start.
I've had every promise broken, there's anger in my heart.
You don't know what it's like, you don't have a clue.
If you did you'd find yourselves doing the same thing too.
Breaking the law, breaking the law!
Breaking the law, breaking the law!
Breaking the law, breaking the law!
Breaking the law, breaking the law!
You don't know what it's like.....
Breaking the law, breaking the law!
Breaking the law, breaking the law!
Breaking the law, breaking the law!
Breaking the law, breaking the law!
Breaking the law......
