FFXI invalid registration.

Hi, well i've been looking to comming back to FFXI, it has been a little over a year since i last played so i've decided to make myself a trial account to see how i feel about it before paying up again.

But i've encountered a problem with PlayOnline already.

I had signed up for a free trial and downloaded the european version of the game. I recieved my key in the email. once i had installed, i clicked to start a new registration and when i got the the step of entering my 'PlayOnline registration code' i entered the code i was given in the email, but it is invalid. i have copied and pasted it, done it number by number, letter by letter over and over. and it's still not working. when i tried to create another free-trial for another email account i was declined. I'm not sure what exactly is going on...
I've also tried entering the registration code given in my original manual. but, that too is invalid.

I've checked support and there's nothing on the matter, i've searched through over 30 pages of google, and many game sites, but i can't find anything to help me. It's getting really frustrating seeings as there's nothing to help me along even in the viewer. it's so vague.


Any help will be much appreciated.

Also, one more Q. is there a way to retrieve your playonline ID through entering account details / registration codes.

You might want to contact customer support, or obtain a different code(maybe use a different email?). About POL ID, yes you can call playonline information center, provide them the necessary information (codes, billing, etc.) for your ID.

If the Reg code is a US version then you will need to use US pol in order to register the account.

Try calling the pol callcentre, they may give you the information. I have no idea though.

ok, i had found out it was because of the US code after reading what you had said. Even trying again on the EU site it still resent me the same code. There's nothing in the email that would suggest it was for EU or US

So, i've gotten a friend to help me out and it's all working so far. hopefully i'll be playing soon.
