Good hosting?

Looking for a new webhost (mainly for my FB apps and such).

Preferably looking for something semi-reasonable (The FB apps do have an income, but it certainly isn't huge) in the pricing range, and something that would hopefully allow Java servlets as well.

Using Google to find good webhosts isn't easy these days, the search results are flooded with bullshit hosting websites that hardly have any useful support at all

Used them several years ago, had no problems, downtime was minimal (as in never had an issue), great flexibility in options and great flexibility in price range. Assuming you're going to be in a relatively low bandwidth usage, you can definitely get some good pricing for a dedicated server (under $50/mo with accommodations to upgrade if you needed to). If I needed hosting again I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

Edit: It looks like they either don't offer smaller packages anymore or else they don't advertise it.

I've been using 1&1 for years now and I've been very impressed with their service. For $10 a month I get 300GB of space, 3TB bandwidth, SSH access, PHP, Perl, Python, MySQL and tons of other stuff that I can't even remember to mention.

My package usage from 03/01-03/08 (disk space is wrong for some reason, its like 55000 MB)

You have to jump through about 30 hoops to cancel your service as well.

It's the first time I've used a hosting company and I know how hard it can be to sift through all of the options to find the one that best fits your needs. But it my searching they had a pretty low level of negative feed back from users at the time of making my choice.

I use these guys for website & radio station for about year now. Very little service interruptions and lot of good canned app's. Has ftp, unlimited emais, mysql well just about anything you need if your into making full site. Good luck with your search.

Using Dreamhost, its not that bad for me anyway.

If I get their premium service for like minimum $15 extra a month I can control cpu/memory usage on my account and restart the server manualy if my website goes down, lags etc

Rather bump this than start another since this one has some good links in it.
Ive always just used IIS, but it's for a recommendation, and just looking for some suggestions.
