Throw away laptop LCD's or can they be used for something else?

I've recently parted out two IBM A20 laptops and both of the LCD's worked just fine. I was wondering should I throw them away, or can I make a project with them and say have them hook up as external monitors for a PC/or something?

Not too savvy in electrical and what not so just though I'd ask.

Could always try selling them on ebay or craigslist if you want to try to make a quick buck. Otherwise, they'll only work when you plug them into a laptop motherboard so I'd say they're pretty useless otherwise.
