Losing Merits

A friend of mine went to do Streetsweeper Campaign OPs to get a merit. After they got enough exp to get the merit, they did not and the exp reset back to as if they'd gotten one.

They called a GM, but he claimed that you couldn't get merits in Campaign OPs, and said that you could only hold 10 at once (only had 2 at the time), etc. etc. then said their FFXI was broken. They relogged and still didn't have the merit.

Anyone know if there was something broken in the maintenance?

nope i got 4 merit pts today just fine so far.

I sort of had this happen to me except, I was doing a BC fight for CoP and I knew I was 164 till 73. I went in and beat the mission and it said in the chat log that I had gotten my experience points but when I checked I was still 72 and 164 tnl. I called a GM and all they said is that I couldn't be refunded my exp.

Same thing used to happen to me during the solo ENM ("Pulling the strings"), where I wouldn't get any exp after opening the chest. Also happened to a friend of mine.

MY bet : Since there is no animation when you level up /merit up in campaign, your friends didnt check good his merit count and thought he didnt got one.
