^ thisSo I dropped my laptop
but on a seriouse note. it sounds like it could be a number of things;
Hard drive malfunction at certian load points.
ram got bumped out of place
your processor exploded
video card cannot process the Vista GUI
Wire connecting from LCD display to video card is now faulty
you dropped your laptop.
drop it again, maybe its like hitting a PS2 that won't read discs
Give it a good smack or two.
Same thing happened to me. It caused a motherboard failure and I had to trash the laptop.
Just send it to the service and let them diagnose it.
It might not be fatal, I suggest you open it up and try to push everything into to place (Some things might have gotten lose, especially the RAM)
Usually if the RAM is loose, it won't get as far as he's saying it's loading.
I don't think that's a possibility. Still, disassemble it and check all the connections, you might get lucky.
I'd be willing to bet it's either motherboard or hard drive, most likely HD.
Burn this program to a CD, and boot to the CD. It'll test the integrity of your HD.

Are there any weird noises coming from your HD? I know when my HD crashed (eff dell) it went to a black screen and wouldn't go any farther, but there was also a clicking noise coming from the screen. If there are noises you can remove your HD and turn on your laptop, it won't load obviously but if clicking is gone you know it was your HD.
If there is no clicking you could try loading it through your BIOS menu by re-ordering the startup and using the main disk.
Dunno if this will help you or not just going through what I did to confirm my HD was dead. GL.
this made me LOL xDQuote:
