Erm, Havent posted on these forums for ages, usually just lurk, but. Ive done AQ quest chain and up to bang a gong, any non eu servers still have gates closed?

Did quest for giggles, but if there was server with gates closed would be cool to open them.

Anyone?

So to answer your question, no US servers still have gates closed. All the new servers they've been standing up to handle population explosions have started gates open.

Don't know if it was a joke but it'd be impossible. They don't let people transfer in until about 3-4 months after they open the server so they can give a shot to the people who started from scratch. : p

As much as you probably think that EU servers are these twee little servers with 20 people running around on them with people who've barely even done 60 content yet, you'd be sadly mistaken.

We're just as overly populated, laggy and have progressed just as far by now as US servers. I think there was one server last year that was opened that someone changed to and banged the gong, and it was literally within 15 minutes of the server going up, and he had plenty of competition. If you're going to do this I suggest logging out as close to the gates as you can and getting your transfer done early

As long as you bang the gong within ~12 hours of the first strike, you get your mount and any other goodies that the other person did.

I may consider doing the same someday.

ya only problem is that cant transfer from US -> eu servers. And all new US servers have gates opened it seems, so for those like me who have quest at Bang the Gong, but on US, looks like no chance of mount/title.

To be honest, I think they should allow this content to be done at 80, as an instanced event of some sort. I know the mount is supposed to be special, but considering how long ago it is, many of the original characters are gone (atleast on my server, we had 3 mounts at one time, which have long since quit, transfered away or been retired to play different classes)

It seems a shame that they came up with this event, only to let it be referred to almost as myth to newer players who're eager to explore what originally made this game so enticing.

I've been running all the old raid instances recently with a couple buddies from my guild, in an attempt to twink some death knight alts, and to see what I missed. It's been, in my eyes, more fun than most current instances. I especially enjoyed being chain stunned in ZG by Axe throwers.

It was a feat that was probably considered by many to be the hardest challange in this game to date. It was an epic quest-line and the reward was even more fitting, a unique title that only you (most likely) will obtain as well as a mount. As sad as it sounds, if they tried to put something in like this now, so many casuals would complain and it'd just get ruined in the process.

The mentality of the 70's and 80's are on levels completely different from the 60's. You knew what a bitch it was to PvP endlessly for a blue or to raid with 39 other people for a shot at some crappy ass ring with 6 sta/6 spi and some crit. : p

ya i played back at 60 aswell, and i know what it is like, never did aq chain myslef, but we got sum1 in my guild through it, and he got mount.

i just think its unfair that eu servers have the possibility of mounts, yet US dont

US servers are able to ring the gong and get the Scarab Lord title and mount. The only thing is, this is only an option sometime before server transfers open up for that new realm.

About 150 people on the european realms transfered to a new realm to complete that quest all at once. Retarded shit imo.

Didn't they say that they'd be against people transferring servers to complete that quest and that they'd give an opportunity to the people to level from 1-60, etc?
