Problems with router

My mom and dad are in alaska doing their nursing thing making phat lewts. Mom bought a laptop and it arrived at my house last week. She needed me to buy her a router and send both up to alaska.

Well they're both there and my mom's laptop is connecting to the router fine. Wireless she's got 5bars and it works. Ethernet works fine too.

The problem comes with a second laptop. SHe has a wireless card. She is able to get 5bar signal from the router (right beside it) and it says she's connected but it's acting as if she's not on the internet. No internet activity will work (browser internet, aim etc)

How can we fix her connection?

edit: found out that the router is a Linksys WRT110

Does it get an IP address, can you ping anything? Sometimes you can connect but will get "limited connectivity".

make sure on the second laptop that if you go to network connections > properties of wireless connection > tcp/ip settings (in that list) then properties, that everything is set to automatically get settings and no numbers are put in, on both tabs.
