Using DirectX 10 cards on Windows XP?

I currently use 2x ATi x1800xt's (dx9 cards) and was wondering if there were any problems I would encounter with using a new-gen card such as a dx10 card in my windows xp machine? I'm guessing no, since I'm sure the card has backwards capibility.

But I wanted to make 100% sure before buying a new card, didn't find anything in google.

The card itself will work 100% fine in directx 9 mode. XP doesn't natively support directx 10 but you can get it working via a 3rd party mod which I haven't personally tested. Apparently they've been reporting some pretty good results.

can give this a try if you want direct x 10 on XP

Download DirectX 10 for Windows XP from Alky Project
