AIM+ History Viewing
Found an old hard drive and it has tons of old conversations I had a few years ago. Opening the folder with one person leads to a bunch of firefox documents, but when opened it shows nothing. Is there some special program I need to use to see the contents?
-
iirc its usually shown in like notepad or something.

I tried opening it in notepad, wordpad, IE and firefox, still nothing. I mean it made various logs (and pretty much every IM I had with an ex for the entire time I knew her, kind of curious as to what we talked about way back when lol) so I'm hoping theres some way of finding out how to actually open them somehow.
Trying to open them while on AIM+ in the History feature didnt work either, but I'm not sure if I'm just doing it wrong.

the new versions of the aims save it as html files, which should (and do for me) open in any browser. if they are saved as .html open them in notepad and if they arent showing anything there then they must be corrupted or the wrong files.

If you've got nothing to hide, care attaching one of them here for us to try?
Although I will understand if you don't want to incase it contains personal info.
-
How do you upload the .html file?
-
megaupload.com is probably the easiest way
-
Zip it up and use the forum's attachment function.

It appears to be an empty file... there's no data at all. This was all that was in it:

Yeah that's what I got, but I just thought there should be more. I mean it kept track of every conversation anyone had on the computer...but didnt keep track of what was said?
