    Signature Help

I found this signature around on other forums, and the person who made it no longer plays FFXI and can't be contacted by the person in the signature. I want to know how to make stuff like this for my own sigs. Anyone know how?

First, how do you take the animation from Model viewer? Do you take shot-by-shot and add it into Photoshop? Sigs like this would be AWESOME. Anyone?

Thanks Aquilo! I've got a lot of ideas I wanna use with that. And I'm sure anyone who sees it does now too haha.

    it's a 1.4mb .gif file.... thats not a signature, its a movie.

Please, please don't do this. Any forum you join will thank you for it. I hated the stupid blingee trend with signatures a few months back, pages took forever to load.

This. It neither looks cool nor does it look anything like a sig. It's giant both in size on the page and in loading weight.

Most folks I know just outright adblock all animated sigs, or at the least hit escape to stop all animation on a page.

Keep it small and non-animated, please.

Why not just go to the board settings and filter all sigs and avatars instead? >_>

in model viewer you can take a screen shot frame by frame and then create that into a gif

No to huge animated sigs. Sig with that level of animation doesn't belong on a forum, it belongs on youtube. I'd say stick to something like a rainfall or lighting animation or whatnot; those are simple, don't use a lot of frames, and don't tend to have a huge file size. Besides, I see enough ws's and dd'ing ingame, I think I get the picture. ^^

To answer your question though, Fraps + Adobe Photoshop/Imageready and you're set. Should be able to just record a gif with Fraps and take it into Adobe for editing, idk though never used it for that. Just remember that with a sig like that, quality is sacrificed for smaller size and keeping it small is the polite thing to do ~ so if you wanna go ahead with it, I guess pick your poison... :/

LOL@movie comment. You're right though, it's the reason I keep all my sigs in small PNG files. I did make a 4-frame GIF for a friend once, but that was small. It's ok to use GIFs though, if you keep the colors to 256 and the frame rate low enough, you won't exceed 300kb.
