    Ice area FoVs

Just a quick question, what levels do you think are best to start soloing the Beaucedine Glacier & Xarcbard Fields of Valor pages? I've been mostly solo leveling all 20 jobs to 37 and plan to cycle through them all to 50 afterward, and after Qufim Island there's only the Ice zones left. I only tried Glacier once when Qufim was too crowded, but I think I was too low at 35, and it was a little too risky. I'm sure I could stretch out Qufim to at least 39 if need be, but would like to get away from there asap since there's xp pts AND other soloers to compete with for quest mobs.

I did at like 42 and it wasn't bad on PLD. Took forever to find/kill the mobs though.

I was experimenting and found it FASTER to not go to northern areas for up to 37. You'll be pushing too hard.

I managed to hang around at Qufim until 42~ (well, not personally, but level synced with a friend), so if I were you, just do that, rather than take on the more difficult/long to kill mobs. Qufim's mobs die fast and easy enough for you to be more safe and get more EXP over time in my opinion.

I sort of figured this was the case. Glacier is just too spread out near the OP

I feel the same way, and in fact I barely felt comfortable in the glacier as a 46 DRK, but really mostly because of those damn floating eyes. It's possible not to aggro them, but if you do, Eyes on Me hurts way more than anything ever, and they love to spam Bio and all kinds of other nasty shit on you.

I just went back as 47 DRG/WHM, and it was fine because I stuck to Page 1 and totally avoided the eyes. I believe the tigers completely stop aggroing you at 47, and the goblins at 48, which makes it almost trivial to blaze through an FoV as long as you don't have competition.

Now...my preferred method is to clear an FoV and then log out until one becomes available again, and go do something else in the mean time. YMMV. I also don't like to go to popular areas like Qufim and Valkurm for them, because to me, that defeats half the point of doing FoV in the first place.

Edit: oh, and I really only like doing page 1 or 4 in glacier. Gigas are too spread out/overcamped for page 5, and I prefer to have to kill as few eyes as possible.

BLU/NIN does nicely in Beaucedine from about 44-45. Even the eyes aren't that big of a problem if you have all your spells set.

I started as THF at 40. It's doable, but it sure sucks since tigers attack fast and hard. Going to try again now that I'm 42

I didn't find the Galcier too bad, but Xarc was a bitchkitty for me.

"Go kill some non-TW undead in the middle of a bunch of undead. Ho ho ho, hope your HP doesn't drop into bloodaggro range~!"

Worked somewhat better when the mobs were just barely EP, but still too much running around to be worth it.

Yeh I log out too/do something else, or time it exactly so I can do 3 in a row.

And yeh (to the edited part), people are quite delusional I've noticed. Especially in Qufim/Icelands where Orcs are scarce enough already and lots of people are doing it, they don't realise how fucking stupid it is to extend their FoV session by X amount of time to get that extra 20-30 EXP (whatever the gap is between page X and page X).

And to make matters worse, you lose all your buffs if you have to run into the outpost tower (which is 40 cap). It would be nice if they rearranged Beaucedine mobs to be friendlier with FoV.

FoV is Beaucidine is the worst for the following reasons:

    1) Gigas too spread out
    2) Bat Eyes...amirite?
    3) Tigers w/ para-spam

They should have a page just full of Dolls and Gobs...those are all ok

I agree! They must pretty rare since I've never seen one in either of those areas. lol

Anyway, I usually start at 42 in Beaucedine and head over to Xarc when exp starts to crap out.

I did Beau. Glacier on MNK/DNC at 41. It's not bad, but you can get serious multiple agro if you aren't careful, and Eyes take a lot of healing since their abilities and spells hit really hard.

My recommendation is to do the first page, if you got blunt damage, do the pages with the dolls as you level. I ended up sticking with page 4 through most of my play in the Glacier. Avoid page 5 at all costs as Gigas are nearly impossible to find, specially if the zone is even a little bit crowded.

I tried doing Xarcabard at 47-48 but I find that nearly impossible because the moment you hit low health you agro like a billion skeletons and worse, a ghost that I can't do shit to as a ghost.

You can FoV in Glacier up to 51~, the bones are still rather tough in Xarcabard at 47-48.

And yes, fuck you Ghosts. Fuck you.

Page 2 is worst, Cursed Weapons are as rare as shit at times.

Yeah, I tried to do Page 2 after I realized I couldn't do shit to a ghost other than die and fail to rez because it'd just agro me again when I got back up.

The weapons are hard to find, but at least it was workable. In the end I decided to just fuck it and level sync may way to 52 (goal right now is to get to get to 50+ and cap h2h for 50) and to find some DC-EM mobs to find to skill up h2h on later.

Seriously, just avoid this zone unless you got some great healing and good dmg against piercing resistant mobs and blunt resistant mobs.

Does the one per day restriction on getting a regime apply to all zones or just one?

I enjoyed doing it, but with my sketchy play-time, the one hour wait was a turnoff.

I believe the timer for regimes is shared between all zones. I wouldn't worry about the one hour timer though. If you log in and it's like midway through the day, you grab a regime, go finish it, and it's probably next day by the time you get back to the book and you do another one. If it's not, you just kill a few mobs on the way back to the book to make it take longer, earn extra xp and then start over again. I rarely had to wait for a day when soloing past 40+.

    50~60 in Xarc ruled.

There are 5 Demon pawns on those walls heading to Xarc, they're the wimpiest Demons because they don't spam nuke you, run over and kill some, swing down and beat down gigas/eyes, grab the last demon or two if all 5 weren't up, grab a new page.

Beauc was slow, stick to Qufim, I just releveled my 35 (1.4k tnl) Rdm to 37 yesterday morning, just wrecked the crab/worm page 3 times in a row with exp band and killed a few mobs so I can Pld/Rdm without being embarrassed of my sub.
