What Relic#2 should i upgrade

I am soon going to be finish my 2 years self funded Gjallarhorn and I want to start on my second Relic for a melee job Yes i know Gjallarhorn = bard for LIFE but I really want 2 Relic one supporter base and DD base as for support nearly done but for DD i wanted Amanomurakumo but after reading the rate your own relic thread I was dissapointed by some comment the holders said so i am torn about if I should go with Yoichinoyumi or Apocalypse or just stick with Amanomurakumo as i originally planned if any holder can give some advice about pro+con on these 3 weapon would be greatful since my second will be final relic.

I mean I suppose this goes for any job and or weapon, but Apoc drastically changes the way DRK is played. Its a good thing.

My favorite DD jobs are WAR and DRG, I have 'em at 75. However, if I could have one relic, I'd pick Apocalypse and I'd level DRK for it, change my merits for it, and toss my Suppa for it.

Apocalypse is the highest increase from perfect non-relic to perfect relic, easily. Apocalypse is easily the best damaging relic weapon. Yoichi has quite some utility, too.

DO NOT do a relic because it's the best, do one for the job YOU enjoy playing most as a DD. If it's Sam you like playing then you'll get the most enjoyment out of Amano, and yes Amano is a beast of a relic as well.

If you enjoy them both then it's really just a personal option of which you prefer to play the most. Yes Apoc CAN change the way Drk is played but it all depends on who's using it, but don't be fooled by thinking Amano can't make a huge difference too.

Well both are good, you cant really choose wrong. We RDM/BLM/SMNs can get relics that are toys and have no use end game. As a RDM, pick from Murgleis/Mandau/Excalibur... lol (btw Tachi: Kaiten animation wins)

What's your best geared job between sam and Drk ?

Are you doing salvage to get usukane or ares ?

YOu have E body ?

If you have trouble choosing which to do, just get the one you got the most stuff for already.

in my opinion having a relic but no equip to support it is just totally stupid, should get relic once your job is the best you can have without relic (my opinion only).

nah i'm not going to upgrade relic without having the supporting gear and it'll take me atleast another a year or two to finish the second one as for gear SAM>DRK

I would say do same, seems to be most use full job in endgame in most shells I have been in, and well Sam = just win all around

I can't imagine asking random people what relic I want to do.

If you don't 110% know which relic/mythic you want to do, then I don't think you need to do another. Just be happy with your 1, which is more than 99.99% of the playerbase.

If one day you wake up and you just KNOW you want level, say, Scythe. Then do it.

Otherwise spend your time doing something that gives you more enjoyment.

Well reason i'm asking cause I love the 3 jobs and it's hard to decide since i find all of them fun but i've decided on relic thanks for who gave me their personal opinion and helped me decide.

i know ill touch a few nerves when i say this, but idc. apoc doesnt change drk as much as ppl think. At least depends on the person's play style. Apoc imo only makes it safer to goes balls to the walls since you have a WS that cure IV's you. With just a perdu sickle, i was able to hang with them as far as dmg% goes with 3-4 other apoc drks in separate occasions. Than again im an extremely aggressive player and good with my seigan at the same time. Dank was the only one out of the apocs i knew who wasnt just casual. He was just like me, WS'ing the second he had TP, using 16% haste in gear since he was already capped. So he knew how to gear specifically for it. And we were still about equal, i can dig up some parses later if anyone is interested. Except... the mages didnt have to heal him nearly as much me. i was a pain in the ass lol.


amano is a much diff story. which is why, i would've picked that one instead of apoc if i was still playing. The amano users who rank it down are usually the bandwagon sams who dont know they can STILL do 2k WS's in camps like mamool, w/o having to do Tachi Rana. That WS is so overpowered, its retarded. Its delay is ludacris, allowing you to WS more often times than a DRK with apoc, for way more average dmg. And if you sub /drg you can swing way more often as well in the long run.
On HNM, its not a big deal. My average Gekko on Tiamat as a /war sub was around 600 with a hagun and minimal buffs. Amano would bea tthe hell out of that, even wth 100 TP. And this is coming from the guy who played around with the Futsuno as well.
