Good platformers???

Does anyone know of any good new platformers that are coming out soon or recently came out? It's just so hard to find great games in the style of mario 64, banjo kazooi (new one is good, but not really like the old ones that much), donkey kong 64, and the like?

The Lego Games are really decent. Star Wars (Complete Collection) is pretty lengthy, but Indy and Batman are a tad short though.

Braid isn't long, but for it's price, it's definitely worth a playthrough. Though it isn't the style you named.

PS3 has the Ratchet and Clank series which have always been pretty decent.

How can I have forgotten about the Lego games. They are all just plain fun. Batman really isn't that short compared to indy, 30 levels in all compared to 15, but still not all the stuff of Star Wars.

I wonder if they have any more in the works.

As mentioned Ratchet and Clank does a great job of blending platforming with action, it's a fantastic series with top notch production values. Even the first ps2 game is still good.

The first Sly Cooper was pretty good too.

I agree w/the R&C series... it's a really fun platformer for all ages. Sometimes they miss the mark w/the games, but its usually w/ a few of the weapons vs the actual platforming experience.

Prince of Persia is also fun and id say 90% platforming w/ some fun fighting sequences mixed in, but it's easy mode w/great eye candy visuals. There is also MM9 for DLC

Cave Story. End key for a great platformer...coming to Wii as a remake too.
