NM maintenance reset

I know that most of the NM's in the game get reset after maintenance or an update, but what about placeholder NM's like Vivian and Vilma? I'm trying to get a Vilma's ring for my SMN and was curious if I logged back in after maintenance which mob will be there, Overgrown Rose, Garden Rose or Vilma?

I believe their timers are reset and don't pop after maintenance.

Has there ever been a maintenance without this thread popping up? Someone should make a sticky of this Notorious Monsters after maintenance stuff.

To answer your question, I am pretty sure that those mobs are put on full timer reset after the servers come back up. So you will have to wait for their full duration to change into the NM's.

Not 100% positive, but that is what I have been told. Also remember that the servers actually go back up before we are allowed to log back on. Not by much but it is at least a couple of minutes.

There are always a lot of placeholder NMs up on server start. I always assumed every non-timed window was considered open on start.

He is talking about the marlboro that changes over from the normal mob to the NM if it is undisturbed for a period of time.

He asked about Vivian too. The ones with PHs you have to keep alive are pretty well-established to not be up anywhere near a maintenance, true. Pretty sure anything you kill a PH for is open though.

Vivian can be up right after maintenence. I don't know how many times I would see it on my way to the aery after servers came back up. As far as vilma, I'm not to sure about it.

You're mistaken in thinking that Vivian and Vilma works the same way. Vivian is a normal PH spawn, while Vilma(Rose garden) requires you to leave the PH untouched.

When the servers open, the Overgrown Rose will be up with its timer reset and will morph into Rose Garden once the 10 hours, or however long it is, has passed.

not all zones come up at the same time too as far as i can tell.

ex: behemoth pops at 5:05:34 EST this does not mean that all the zones came up at the same time. (i think this is right someone call me out i i have it wrong)

Do-not-kill-placeholder NMs are not up upon server reset...

e.g. Noble Mold, Rose Garden, Taisaijin, etc. Apparently the prerequisite for their existance is the placeholders being in existance for [insert number here] hours, which is impossible to satisfy if every normal mob in the game just popped.
