So I'm pretty sure I've read more than once about ppl saying codec packs are either a waste or not the best way to get codecs for some reason. Just wondering where you get your codecs from as I just installed XP64 and have no video viewing ability atm. >.>

I used to enjoy VLC, but we had to split up. Media Player Classic and well-made codec packs (like Shark's) are my new loves.

VLC is still there just in case MPC lets me down, though.

Pretty much what TSM and Kohan said. VLC used to be sufficient for everything (and still is, really), but then I learned about MPC/ffdshow/Haali, etc.. VLC and I aren't talking at the moment.
