I play ITG very very rarely, but I like it a lot more than DDR, I play DDR a lot because my cousin owns an extreme machine >_>

I used to play DDR for hours everyday. Have a cobalt flux and was pretty fucking good. Alas, I lived in an apartment that was space constrained and with neighbors who like to pound on the ceiling. Didn't play once this year.

Ah. Nice. I play a ton of Stepmania. I've got somewhere around 100ish AAA's or so laying around in my screenshot folder for Stepmania I believe. I can't really play much now since this PC is garbage, and the graphics card is shitting up to the point where I can basically only browse. If I play Stepmania, it skips a little, so it makes it nearly impossible to play right. Good job, though!

used to do SM/FFR (flashflashrevolution.com, fingers >.>) a while ago but I haven't really played lately, kinda lame I know but i never really had the space for a DDR pad, any suggestions on DDR pads now that I do have space?

If you don't feel like spending a couple hundred dollars on a hard pad you can modify the cheapo soft ones to get a decent result. Get a hard plastic carpet protector like you would use under a office/computer desk and glue/velcro the soft pad on to it. This gives a double benefit, it stops the pad from slipping around on you and gives it a much firmer, solid feel. It's also very easy to replace it when the pad wears out on you. It's not as good as a nice hard pad like the cobalt flux, but I did this years ago and have gotten solid results from it.

Never really played anything past Extreme and that got old after the 4 years it was out for. Though it and MAX2 were probably the best machines imo.

I don't know much about the new stuff other than I can play it with the new background system with all the 3d and colors and what not it hurts my eyes after a few songs.

do people still frown on using the arrow speed up?
My and my bud always used 1.5x or 2x and Reverse at the arcade since we played alot more IIDX and we'd often bounce between it, GF/DM and DDR so we preferred certain scroll speed and moving down. We'd miss a ton more if things scrolled up.

Nah 1.5 and 2x are pretty normal these days.
