Alec Baldwin was set to define Baldwinism.

Baldwin suicidal over voicemail to daughter- msnbc.com

It was the private voicemail message not meant to be shared and yet ended up being heard by nearly everyone — Alec Baldwin's angry April 2007 tirade against his daughter, Ireland, accusing the then-11-year-old of being a “rude little pig” who needed to have her “ass straightened out” after she had “humiliated me for the last time.” Only now, as the Emmy-winning “30 Rock” star admits in a candid interview with Playboy for its July/August issue (on newsstands and online Friday), after the phone message was exposed, he contemplated killing himself.

30 Rock just wouldn't have been the same.

anyone else think that reporting something like this, and the overexposure of 'celebs' personal lives in general is just assholeish? I mean seriously, its fucked up.

The fact that someone has the balls to admit they're suicidal is a pretty big step, but to admit that to a huge magazine like Playboy... That's pretty crazy.

Methinks he probably wasn't suicidal, since that's something you typically keep to yourself, and maybe a doctor/therapist. Hi2uPublicity.

Uh, I would say he definitely was suicidal for at least a little bit, considering he was ready to essentially kill off 30 Rock by leaving it before it even got renewed for Season 2/won an emmy etc... This is not really for publicity, since this just refreshes peoples memories about that 1 blemish on an otherwise spotless last few years b/c of 30 Rock publicity/awards. I don't think he has ever really gotten over it though, which is why he still brings it up despite most people having forgotten about it, to me it shows how frustrated he is/was as a parent. He also mentions in the interview he plans to retire around 2012/when 30 Rock is over, have another kid and just be a stay at home dad to the point where his kid will not know who his dad was. He's mentioned similiar shit on Letterman and other interviews so i think hes pretty sirius.

I don't know, Alec Baldwin is a pretty bad ass actor... I always figured he was about ready to retire sometime soon anyway.

If I was him, I'd kill myself after watching my Brothers on "I'm a Celebrity, Get me outta here!"
