I know a few Arena Football players and yet I've never watched a single game. Seems fun as hell and I love football, just never got much publicity.

I don't really know anything about this league, but all of the cities mentioned are very large (LA, NO, Tampa). Who would actually care to watch this league in those cities? I lived in Minneapolis for quite a few years and loved the major teams, but couldn't care less about the minor league baseball Saint Paul Saints.

I'm currently in the Fargo, ND area and love our minor league teams. We have minor league baseball and hockey here which are a blast to go watch in comparison to what else is here heh. I have a good time whenever I go see a game, but it just doesn't compare to watching the Twins or Wild play live.

My dumb point may be long, but why was Arena Football in major cities and not smaller ones?

That's because there's nothing else to do in Fargo....

Honestly, who didn't see this coming? I don't know why people try to start these sub-NFL leagues, they always fail.

This sucks, I liked Arena football a lot. It was a completely different style of game than NFL/College and very fun to watch. I was expecting them to fold the under performing teams and come back with the stronger teams, but I guess it's not gonna happen.

I don't know about the cities mentioned in the story, but the Philadelphia Soul did very well in both attendance and TV ratings. I went to a few games myself and the tickets were cheap and I enjoyed watching the games a lot.

I could never get into these games at all. Even with the arcade style scoring that would go on, I would always be so bored attempting to watch.

Also, this isn't a shock to me either. After they canned last season, I figured it was only a matter of time.

Whether you are a fan of the league or not it sucks that its going away. The games were fun and you got to see a lot of your favorite college stars play up close and personal and not only that but it gave a people a shot that might otherwise not have gotten it.

Its not much to see on TV but in real time the games are awesome. My dad coached the team that used to be here in Charlotte back a long time ago. It was awesome seeing guys you watched play in the SEC and BIG 10 football walking past you hoping to get back into the NFL.

I've gotten lucky and met a ton of old Gators, Seminoles and Buckeye players. I was playing HS football at the time and getting a chance to work with players that played D-1 ball and some pro ball. It sucks that they are folding but then again I hope this new league leaves the gimmicks out and puts a good product on the field. The more football the better.

Come on now, we had one of the best QBs in the Arena League...even though he couldn't win a playoff game either, but whatever lol.

I will say one thing though that you brought up, the Arena League was EXTREMELY fan friendly. They do deserve props for that.

The AFL died the day the Detroit Drive became the Maaschusetts Marauders. I loved going to watch them play as a kid. I just couldn't bare it when Ilitch sold them and they folded the next year...

Much better to see live, but I never could get into it on TV.
