Goldmsithing Guides?

I've been looking for guides relevant mainly to 60+, but a 1-100 guide would be efficent, for leveling GS, I'm planning on deleveling my Cooking on my main char, does anyone have any relevant guides updated more recently. The one on wiki seems slightly outdated, and from the math I've done on cost:skill seems ridiculously overpriced post 80 when theres seems to be more simple recipes to skill on.

I found the biggest challenge in Goldsmithing getting up to 80, personally.

Yeah with all the new recipes it will be easier on you to just make your own and use FFXIAH to price and count your losses. Most of the older guides have been around since 2004 and are too far gone to be of any use.

For instance when I leveled Goldsmithing, I could buy Gold and Platinum ingot stacks for 80k. Yes I said stacks, that was much more feasible then than it is now. Then again I began crafting out of the box and was 88 by the time I was 60 on my first job back in late 2004.

wow, I probably lost more in the 70-80 stretch breaksynthing than it cost you as a whole to get to 100. I could almost lose as much as you paid for a stack of ingots in a single synth sometimes! Of course, I levelled Gold at the tail end of the great inflation so >.>

Yeah I leveled Gold as soon as I started, mainly by accident. Resident of Bastok and killing worms getting Copper ore and Zinc ore and then making them into Bronze ingots. Before I knew it I was getting skill ups and never looked back so to speak lol.

Just wanted to say that's awesome. I really wonder how many people starting the new FF will begin crafting or fishing right away and how it will effect the crafting markets. Btw, crafting way back then, did you need subs to 60 like you do for many of the profit synths now adays, or primarily just your main?

Just your main for the most part. I used to make a KILLING on Brass and Silver hairpins and level 14 rings. Everyone was new and leveling low level jobs etc so it was easy as pie to get some of your money back.

We used to have a Goldsmithing shell on Pandemonium back in the day that had players like myself, Modeko, Millionaire and a few other JP Goldsmithers in it that helped control the market prices. The only other person that did Gold in the beginning with me on Pandy was a guy named Trollox. Outside of that it was all Japanese doing Gold in the beginning and we all worked together wonderfully.

That also made things much, much easier. I cant imagine things working that way today, its all about me, me, me in these times.

Thanks for the info guys, looks like making my own guide is my best choice, got one priced out to 75 so far XD. I'll try and post it later when I finish and if you guys could add/critique some choices would be awesome ^^/

Np, that's what I originally did while planning cloth 0-60, I missed quite a bit of good options but people pointed them out.
