Some chord progressions just work really well, any music major can list down 3-4 of them that probably encompass the vast majority of bridge sections. Jeff Buckley even wrote a song about this, "The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift". I'm downright surprised that isn't in that video, how do you miss that one.
