Garmin NA Maps

Hey All,

I have a query regarding Garmin Maps. We have a Garmin In Car Sat Nav (nüvi 250) but basically it only has EU Maps (From Ireland)

Im traveling to the US in a week so ill need to get the NA Maps. I was wondering if anyone knows is it possible to download them via torrent or anything? They are kinda expensive and im tight for $$ as it is for my trip. Ill have to get them either way and ill just pay if i have to but if i could avoid this cost i will. I got hit with a " Young Drivers Tax " on top of my car rental so i didnt budget for that and that is an extra $25 a day.

You can try torrenting them; unfortunately most Garmin devices have proprietary interfaces with Garmin's website... so I don't know if updating them with a torrented map pack would disable them or not.

Last time I had a rental car, you could rent a GPS for pretty cheap ($10 a day I think it was, something like that) or just get a car that had GPS integrated into it. Did you inquire about that? May be a better option than trying to get the maps.

Ok thanks for the info guys, i had looked at the additional cost including the satnav ill have to double check that.
