    Vista 64bit & the Registry

    I realise this maybe slightly the wrong forum but I didn't see anywhere better. I have done a search before asking this.

    I just installed XI on my new pc, it's a Vista 64 bit OS.

    I installed once under the original POL, so I've had to uninstall and do again with the Vista compatible POL off the website. I just went to the registry to make my graphics pretty, and there is no registry key for PlayOnline or POL anymore.

    Did SE move it / somehow remove it in Vista64? Game is working fine but it just doesn't have the good BG res. =(

    edit: fixed first issue, got a new one! http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/80497...ml#post3009234

    HKEY local machine -> software -> Wow6432Node --> Playonline
    Basically, all the old 32 bits sofware will be in Wow6432 now

    I had the same problem last week when I tried to install the EU version of WoTG. Took me a bit to figure out where the old program registry were installed (I should have done search right away, but I'm retarded and thought the vista version didn't use registry anymore).

    Anyway, what's the registry change to make the game look better?

    0000 to 2-6. (Mipmapping rises to 2-6, rather than on[1] or off[0]).
    0003 and 0004 to 800 (2048x2048 background resolution).

    I did this and the bgs worked, but my characters still look very pixelated. Wondering if 1900x1080 is too big a res.

    I guess setting my POLconfig resolution to 1600x800 while leaving my windower resolution at 1900x1080, this happened:

    Retarded ass game.

    [Background]
    BLUE=38
    GREEN=34
    RED=34
    ALPHA=1
    VISIBLE=1

    Why wont my clock background show. D:

    Try making ALPHA=0 or a higher value? (Not sure if it's binary or not)

    You don't talk about windower within the game. Fight club rules.

    Nvidia 9800 S users, i got a new driver today and it runs worse with FFXI than the previously released driver. Just a heads up. @@
