From a male perspective, there is no real advantage to getting married. There is an advantage for the woman: she typically earns less, works less, and spends most of the money in the relationship. She also gets alimony regardless of how the marriage ends (thx2u no-fault divorce). The children have an advantage as well, they are supported better both emotionally and financially.

The man gets nothing out of it. He has much more control/power when he is in a relationship than in a marriage because he can leave at will. He will also get more sex in a relationship than in a marriage.

Marriage does not grant exclusive rights to your wife's vagina. I have personally fucked more wives than I can count on a hand. With the innovations of social networking on the internet and how readily your spouse will meet potential mates through interaction in real life due to metropolitan lifestyles, she will be more apt to cheat than ever before in history.

There are only a few reasons I really see guys getting married.

1) They fucked a girl who in their eyes is the hottest chick they can ever fuck, so they knock her up intentionally or marry her to take possession of her.

2) They have no game and they try to lock down any chick that will fuck them.

3) They think that is what they are supposed to do because that is what they saw growing up.

Im sure there are more reasons; however, those seem to be the most prominent. As well, you can see that most of them are rooted in insecurity.

Finally, I would like to end on the fact that only 3% of mammals are monogamous. For most of humanities history, polygamy was the standard, not monogamy.

So if you are a guy, and you are married/thinking about getting married, you are a pussy.

I agree and never hypothesized that bad marriages staying together for kids were good. I stated that marriages are better for the child's development.
