I wonder how much longer we got on missions/quests before it reaches it's conclusion... it can't be long now....

Got to admit I was hoping for info on that dagger fromt he preview. Really want to see what what this new item system is all about.

This also reminds me I need to get a bottled pixie for the Windy quest. Any suggestions on where I could grab one solo?

Find out when Rapture is going to be released. The WoTG story will be drawn out to 3 months before that.

Yagudo High Priests drop Bottled Pixies nearly 100% of the time. The ones outside in Meriphataud (my favorite is the one right outside Oztroja) con T to low VT, and can be soloed with by a decently geared 75. I've done it on Ninja, Red Mage, and Black Mage personally. The hardest part is pulling, really and the annoying buffs it has if it's been up a while. (Which it usually is)

While I love the nation quests, well Bastok can as always go to hell, I really wish they'd got on with the main WOTG storyline this time through and quit the teasing.

Hmm, I'll have to look into that. Need to talk to SP members and see if they need it as well. If not guess I can give it a shot on PLD/DNC, if that doesn't work the ones in West Saru. have a resonable drop rate compared to other beastmen around their level from what I noticed.

Then you'd have people bitching that the main story finished before the side stories. As much as I'd want to finish the storyline already..the side stories offer the most in terms of history if you love the game's storyline. They are taking the CoP route, only this time between chunks they still offer questlines with story instead of nothing at all.

Like for CoP how it was up to Chapter 5, there was nothing to tide players over while we waited for Chapter 6-8-1, then between that and chapter 8-2 - 8-4 we had nothing to tide us over, aside the obvious fact most of the dev team is on FFXIV, they took a good route with WoTG's story, since those that only focused on the main storyline waiting for the shinies at the end can knock out the 3 national storylines while waiting.

The quests are really nice and I am looking forward to the continuation, but getting them done has been extremely hard given that

    a) no one but people on a specific quest can actually help you in the BCs

    b) Few people are ever available with the above requirement

I feel that hurts what have been an otherwise excellent storyline.

I love all the nation storylines, some of the best missions in the game plus decent rewards.

I'm really hoping that they conclude them as part of the WotG missions in the next update. As others have said, this trickle has gone on long enough.

Personally, I don't want to see the conclusion for these quests any time soon if they can maintain the quality of them. Also wtf @ Bastok quest spoilers? Come on, SE.

Don't we already know the truth behind Klara and Zeid's past? Also, based on the wording of the Windy quests, hopefully next story update (in 6 to 8 months ><) will be the last... While I will agree that some of them are exceptional (namely the Windy ones), I much prefer the main WotG storyline and would much prefer to see that story continue.

SE stated in the latest interview that WoTG after this update will be around 2/3rd complete, so we still have another 6-8 months left. Since they rotate between Nation Quests and Main Missions every other update we are probably looking to see a conclusion to the main story and the opening of Walk of Echos sometime at the beginning of 2010 with the nation quests concluding possibly sometime close to late spring/early summer 2010.

There is still a lot to look forward to. We get the WoTG equivalent of AV/PW as an HNM this update, and Walk of Echos hopefully next.

    Windy quests gimmmeeeeeeeee

    Windy is so goddamn awesome.
But yeah, I'm kind of tired of getting 2 quests every 2nd or 3rd update too. They need to end soon for sure.

It really is stuff like this that makes me no longer want to play ffxi. I loved the game and have fun, to little to do each update(aka I do everything in a week and its over)

    Anyways I do have to side that WoTG quests have been very good so far, they should just spend more time and get the shit done so they can move onto full time FF14 build tbh. The last few years I did keep playing just the updates come to slow for me to pay them anymore ; ;
