Balance is impossible without homogenization, if someone is more comfortable/having more fun aiming to do well with their inferior setup that's cool, we found a use for dragoons and drks and all sorts of relatively useless classes but the bottom line is the guy stacking the deck in his favor will eventually be better assuming the same amount of effort is being put in.
Bottom line is if the difference is as very simple as which weapon theyre holding in their hands, one guy's SOL.
Granted this only matters if the people playing are aiming to maximize their output/potential/again whatever but results do show as time progresses and those results will be documented and trends will build according to said results.
Long story short: Play meta knight.
