xbox360 1 ring of death?

I haven't played my 360 in a few months, but after getting a new hdtv i decided to hook it up and try out the HD. i plug in both cables, flip the switch to HDTV on the xbox cord, and now i'm getting the single red ring, meaning 1/4 of the ring is red, not the 3/4 that means the system is toast. any idea why? Usually the 1/4 means the cords arent in right, but i've reconnected them numerous times and no luck.

My guess is that you may just have a bad cord. Know anyone with an Xbox that may let you borrow their cables?

Troubleshooting RROD guide from microsoft themselves. Might want to give it a go and see if any of these simple things can fix your system.

I believe when all four quadrants are red that is something to do with the A/V cable.

The one red light is just another generic error, which you might just have to send it in.

My 360 cord is toast and I got something similar. Just use an HDMI cable, it works much better than that bulky 360 one.
