Building a PC Question/Monitor

Im looking to build a gaming PC, but I dont know the first thing about building a PC, is there a reasonable site I can use that lets you build your own PC and they put it together for you.

Also recommendations on good HD monitors. All help appreciated.

Most any major computer manufacturer (HP, Dell, etc) will let you customize a computer, unless you're talking about picking specific components. Ibuypower.com has a lot more custom options, but it's also going to cost you more than building it yourself or going with one of the other big brands.

As for monitors, there are too many to list. Personally I'm a fan of the Samsung 22-24" monitors.

Yeah I was looking to weigh the costs to see how much it would cost to have one built, I really dont have anyone to help me build one.

You can build one yourself. There are plenty of tutorials online and people on these forums that could help you.

I would look around at the independent online builders (Cyberpower, iBuypower, etc.) and it doesn't hurt to look around at your local computer shops either! Seriously though it's not hard to learn to build one yourself through the manuals and online tutorials.

And Dell is out because they rip you off and have horrible service. Even if you try to customize a baseline Alienware system, they overcharge out the ass for miniscule upgrades such as $100 just to switch from DDR3-1066 to DDR3-1333, or $125 to upgrade from a 640GB hard drive to 1TB.

I'll agree with Ceph on monitors. I've had two Samsungs and they're terrific. There are other good ones out there though.. LG, Hanns-G, Asus and .... Dell! Their 24" S-PVA monitor for $500 is possibly the best quality display you can get.

To what degree have you upgraded a computer before? If you've done hardware upgrades, reformatted, etc, then building really isn't that much of a leap.

Far as monitors, I've heard good things about the new Dell S-PVA panel, and I like my HP LP2475W. Those are some actual "affordable" non-TN 24" panels. If you don't care so much about quality, then just get a TN panel for half the cost.
