Is my oled starting to die?

Just noticed while watching Bleach, then confirmed with an episode of Archer the top of my screen seems like it's bleeding or something. Never seen this before, and hoping it doesn't get worse cause I can't afford a new TV right now...

All OLED panels have pixel refresh/repair functions in the menus, try finding yours and run the most detailed one possible. Then do a pixel test (google it, tons of options) and see if the issue persists.

Unfortunately OLEDs have big time burn in and degradation issues and no amount of lying from the industry will prove otherwise. They aren't as bad about it as first gen LCDs and plasmas, but it's a big problem.

Unfortunately, that looks like the layers of the panel are starting to separate, not burn-in. I doubt a pixel refresh will help. It's probably replacement time.

I only say that because it looks like a massive and obvious thing but the implication was that it took a few times of trying to confirm it.

Here's a post on reddit about it.

Yeah, it's 100% delamination. six years old. not happy, but what can you do. Will just ride it as long as I can as I can't afford a new one right now.

Damnit, I just saw this thread and checked my CX which is just almost 6 years and yup signs of this is happening. Its not very noticeable unless you look really close but its there. At least I have an excuse to tell my wife why I want to upgrade to a new tv
