Going to Japan(Island Slant to tyven) in late March during their "Golden Week". I plan on spending a pitiful 5 days in Yokohama/Tokyo. About how much would I be looking at for those 5 days if we are to a) assume i'll be eating princely and b)staying at a friends house for free. Thanks Spam. I'm sure i'll get some honest and sincere input on this.

I really liked Akihabara (obviously, it's heaps of fun with all the tech and stuff), but something I recommend doing is heading over to Odaiba (catch the monorail/train thing over the rainbow bridge) and going to the hot springs place there. Of course you'll have to nude up so be prepared for that, but it's something uniquely Japanese to experience and it's very very relaxing. Also at Odaiba is the HUGE WALL OF GASHAPONS and the huge game hall which is worth visiting just by itself (under the giant ferris wheel).

If you're there on a Sunday go to Harajuku and check out all the "Harajuku girls". They're just outside the station, on the bridge that goes over to the temple. The temple is also lovely to visit, a huge peaceful forested area in the centre of Tokyo! Harajuku is also a great place to buy alternative and fashionable Japanese clothes. Ginza is also cool, but full of shops you'll basically find in any other huge city so I wouldn't really recommend shopping there unless you like the feeling of being bowed to a LOT.

TAKESHITA! Fuck yeah! Awesome album. What kind of camera did you use? a lot of those shots were pretty and I don't think my G1 is up to the task as a camera.
